I think it is her. But honestly don't know for sure.

    How serious is this virus?

Very serious. It hasn’t made a single joke to date.

We should take it with a pinch of salt but Iran has reported a drop in the number of new cases today.

That said yesterday was Friday, which is obviously prayer day there, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Did some calculations this morning on the relative size of coronavirus.

If you scaled a corona up to the average size of a human , then the height of an average human would be from Ireland to ... Australia.

In short - a corona landing on a human , is ( roughly) equivalent to Armstrong on the moon. That’s how incredibly small these things

If you scaled up corona in seconds, the answer would be 769 kg plus 10 watts minus 205 degrees

Sometimes in a crisis you need an individual like Putin in charge.

No bullsh*t, not afraid to make hard decisions.

Unfortunately it’s not as clear cut as that. For example before this started the price of ethanol was about 860e a tonne. It’s now 10 times that price. As global demands for products such as masks, sanitisers etc grows the cost of raw materials to make them goes up.

Russia took immediate to stop the virus getting in. The EU did nothing...

    Open borders uber alles.

    You believe the Russian figures?

I actually now think that when Trump says China virus is because he hates China. Especially it's leader. This virus (which China are now supposedly almost clear off) is going to ruin his chance of re-election, his personal fortune and the economy.
Apparently Us cases peak is still 5 weeks away with figures close to 20k already. The health care system will collapse. The economy will be hammered.
2 rivals and one is going to be severely weakened while the other also takes a hit but is at least recovering

We are less densely populated. Saved by one-off housing?
Living in a one-off house will limit transmission at your doorstep, but they still have to visit their nearest town to buy groceries and do everything. Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan are highly urbanised and they have much lower transmission rates than Ireland, so there's no evidence that one-off housing is limiting transmission.

    Cases in Australia pass 1000.
Thailand has it's largest single day rise at 90 new cases

Phillippines Indonesia and Malaysia also have their largest rise in a single day with 77, 81 and 153 new cases respectively

First two deaths in Singapore, a man who had been in ICU for almost a month and an Indonesian man who was admitted to ICU upon arrival in Singapore

We seem to be lucky here and it wasn't that bad compared to the UK with crazy panic buyers and empty shelves.
Sure we got the one day since the schools were announced closed, but I think the government did well drip feeding the measures and of course the suppliers and retailers have been great.

Though plenty on here complained that more decisive action wasn't taken, it does seem to have prevented the panic experienced elsewhere. They seem to have got the balance right on that one.

I'd expect 500 new cases for this Friday.

Dont worry it'll be over soon. God just got the call

    The-Pope-says-asked-God-stop-coronavirus-epidemic

Why would God allow this plague, maybe he did it, but its confusing, the most devoted of his sheep would be the over 80s but why does he target them, or allow it to kill them, his most loyal followers? Doesn't make sense. Just doesn't.

Crowd still here on Adverts scaremongering and profiteering.

I assume face masks and hand sanitizer. Adverts and Done Deal should delist these type ads. Amazon, ebay, facebook have removed/banned new listings for masks etc. where price gouging is going on, false claims beinf made, or scaremongering used. In the UK, misleading ads about facemasks offering protection have been sanctioned by Advertising Standards.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/12/amazon-blocks-new-sale-listings-of-face-masks-hand-sanitizer.html

Ireland needs to act here too. Boards.ie is part of a grouo of companies which includes Done Deal and Adverts.ie. It would be nice if they took action. High quailty facemasks are needed on the frontline

They need to start releasing videos like that from NHS hospitals. There’s one in London that filled up yesterday. It’s the only way to really get the message across.
