    Quick question lads: interested in
Casio G-Shock GW-9400-1ber watch which is advertised on adverts. Comes with box (can), tag and papers, but not too sure if it's 100% genuine.

Counterfeit GW9400 are extremely common. They're also easy to identify in person. So know what you're buying and you'll be fine.

This guy sells a LOT of G-Shocks. I'd be very suspisious if he's not a dealer.

I won't tell you from these pictures, they are too low-res.

If you're going to buy it (in person) you can simply verify that the sensors and multiband works. The fake GW9400s do not have working multiband, environmental sensors etc. Set the time back a few minutes and do an atomic sync (takes about 60s). If the sync is successful the watch is genuine.

I'm not going to vouch for a stranger but looking at the sellers adverts he has sold a lot of G-Shocks which do not have counterfeit versions.

I'm not gonna buy in-person, unfornately, not heading to Galway in incoming months + Covid-19 which doesn't help either.

Then you 'buy the seller' as they say. And protect yourself with reversible payment if possible. Chat on the phone to get a feel for him etc.

The seller looks fine in my opinion.

@coraline @asgaard I'm not so sure that's the case any longer.

I've been a user of Adverts.ie for many years - I bought "authentic" Oakley sunglasses off an individual (https://www.adverts.ie/member/293540) at the end of the summer for around 90 euro.

I got them, wore them once and one of the lenses fell out - I then checked in Sunglasses hut and found them to be really bad quality. When I contacted the seller asking for a 'partial' discount (since one of the lenses fell out) I was "blocked". I was therefore unable to provide feedback

I have so far contacted the Garda and submitted multiple complaints to Adverts.ie to no avail - I won't relent however.

He has over 340 positive feedback but this is an illusion.

The gardai are your only option. Adverts cannot give you a first name, never mind full details. IF they did, the data protection commissioner would prosecute them. If the gardai serve a data request on adverts, they get everything adverts holds. That is the law.......

I was scammed last week on Adverts by a seller who ad 21 previous positive sales.

Not sure how they fake it but all previous reviews old and people giving reviews were legit.

I've made a statement with the Gardai.
