Were they not questioned about waiting lists today in the briefing and said they had no knowledge of this?

Never seen that, clearly a lie cause i know for a fact that theirs waiting lists here in carrickmacross, also seen something about monaghan town as well but the carrick post came from a doctor. Whats the chances them 30 has all self isolated? Market day today and the town was bustling.

That's exactly my point, we all have bills to pay. How are we supposed to pay bills if I'm stuck at home.

Work from home, staggered hours. Bring some staff in early and others in later. So the place isn't crowded like in my place. Ways around it you know.

    Thus closing the remaining POs.

By the way, number of people of all ages who don't use the 'plastic touch', amazes me.
My card wont work for some reason . Told that isn't unusual at all.

Its not that high. 1000 people die worldwide daily from flu, Europe is about 5-8% of the world's population.
    Closer to 10%.

Why are the EU countries not disinfecting the streets like they did all over China and South Korea? The virus stays suspended in the air and then drops to the ground where it can stay for between 3 and potentially 9 days. The floors in shopping centres or just out and about are probably absolutely rampant with it.

I thought I was going to be able to sit this out but my brother has epilepsy and my mother just rang me this evening and let it slip that she didn't manage to pick up his prescription last week. The GP was understandably backlogged, so it will only be at the pharmacy tomorrow. There's no way I'm sending her in to pick it up so I get to go to the pharmacy right beside the epicentre of the virus in the South to collect about six slabs of nutritional supplement and various drugs from them. Hooray.

She also needs perishables, fruits and veg for a strict diet he's on for seizure regulation. I'm not at all confident that they're even safe to eat. It's stuff like strawberries and mushrooms. If he doesn't adhere to the diet, he has intense seizures which he could also die from. Fúckin catch 22.

I have heard that some couples are still sleeping in the same bed.

    Guilty.

We have decided not to share drinks though and will now drink a bottle of wine each, rather than share one.

Its not an obsession with cash. People are creatures of habit and also are not familiar with bank cards etc. It will take a long time before we transit to a cashless economy.

My dad has never used an ATM.
Goes into the bank every week for cash.

Still, measures should be in place for older people to access what they need now. That means family and neighbour support.

Yes fill in the temporary form supplied by post office bring with you each time you collect . It will be extended as long as this is going on and restrictions on place I was told. Bring their card and photo I’d for you . You won’t be signing either that stopped last week and you call out the number on card to them at counter . Also I see from next Monday all social welfare payments will be double weeks paid in advance from next week so this cuts down the weekly trot to post offices

    You really think that.

Have a look into their warehouse in Naas. It's jammed.

Whose warehouse? Penneys? Jammed with what? My brother is a supervisor in a cargo company that deals with Penney's stuff and very little is coming into the country from what I understand.

I would also like a lockdown. My 66 year old mum is a retired nurse who went back to work for the hospital this week on request. She’s so petrified of contacting it and not knowing and then passing it onto my dad, she’s sleeping in a separate room to him. She doesn’t leave the house only to go to work. I’m a teacher so off work and able to run all the errands for them. But it pains me to see how careful she is being and risking a lot ( she’s not young the virus may not be so kind if she contracts it). I was driving through my town this evening and I saw a group of about 10-12 teens hanging out and it angered me. Then I saw someone had posed about it on the town Facebook page and some parents were writing back asking what the issue was and for people to calm down.
The issue is these teens will go home and pass it onto family members who may end up in hospital , taking up hospital beds when it could have been prevented if they just told their kids to stay in for a matter of weeks. It’s not forever , kids have phones and TV’s , they can go for walks and ride their bikes. They won’t die from a bit of social distancing and it may save the lives of others.

I know this rant doesn’t apply to most parents are doing an excellent job keeping their kids away from groups. I applaud those who are doing this !!

Your mother is a hero, bless her

Let kids watch loads of tv, play video games, play in their back gardens, anything to stay away from supermarkets and shops etc., I think parents and maybe also the Gardai need to be more strict #lockdown #curfew ;)

So he chooses not to use a card. That's different than not being able to use one...

My grandmother has been doing a great job of isolating for the last week, but tomorrow is pension day and she really wants to go and get the pension.

I see on citizens information that she can appoint me as a temporary agent but this is only for three weeks Or alternatively as a full time agent but we only want something for a few weeks, have there been any temporary arrangements for this..

See my reply page 312 , made error posting 😫

Completely anecdotal, but I spoke to my local pharmacist about Covid 19. I felt so sorry for the old people visiting him, assuming they had no one to get their prescriptions as I know my own grandparents are in lock down and everyone is dropping stuff at their door. He said it’s the opposite, the young people in our community are taking it seriously and the older people are somewhat oblivious. He tries to impress on them how serious it is and they’re not getting it. I do wonder if you don’t use the internet, how much info they have
