What your missing there is nearly 500 extra beds became available the day before with the hope of extending life, they'll be full now and the toll goes up again.
Grim , it will take them decades to recover from this .

I got a pulse oximeter also. And we are regularly checking temperature. I also feel ‘ off’. Sore throat and headache. Suspect it’s husbands cold that he caught from my son.

I know somebody very well who is critically unwell with this in a Dublin hospital . They are not over 50. I can’t stress enough how important people make sure they monitor their symptoms...

I won’t post anymore then this as it’s family, please people start being smart and have the tools to protect your family and monitor your symptoms...

I refer to above from our resident HSE consultant answering questions.

    I draw your attention to

Yes, my parents have a blood pressure monitor and thermometer and I made sure they bought a pulse oximeter in the run-up to this. I have instructed them that if they think they might be unwell to take their blood pressure and oxygen saturation every morning and record the results on a different sheet of paper each along with the date.

That way they'll be able to tell me and/or their GP their routine obs over the phone and it'll help establish that they're not just anxious as well as creating a timeline of any deterioration in their health.

I have the same and will post my temperature, oxygen saturation and BP if/when I get COVID-19.

I am starting to keep 3 times a day notes on my wife and my BP, heartbeat, Temp and Oxygen levels. Partially to get used to it and also because we have felt a bit off but not much.

Why decades. Countries recovered after world wars in a lot less time.

How about we keep our hardware shops open? I know that is not the most important thing but if we keep our hardware shops open and if we have to work at home or be at home for a period we can get paint from the hardware shop.

“Or let’s get every south-facing windowsill in this country. Let’s plant our seeds in the next week so that if there is a supply crisis in food in a few months’ time and when this gets really hard, we will have our salads ready to go.”

My aunt rang me if I would going shopping with her tomorrow. I said sure why not. She said we can have a meal back in her place afterwards.

Would others go shopping with their relatives?

    no

if they are elderly and needed assistance, I would just go by myself for them.

European style/type lockdowns are so loose that it may take more than a week (in my opinion)!

These are the types of situations we should be trying to avoid.

    Poor Italy.

But who knows who will follow their path. Chatter going on about Londonders decamping to their holiday homes all over, and bringing CV with them. Locals who may have been relatively safe are not amused.

Maybe that's why the buffoon is saying there will be NO lockdown, and then might spring it upon them. I dunno. I'd say with the schools closed many have gone already. Same infection clusters happened in Spain, the Madrilenos decamped full of CV. and we can see what happened there.

And the Tube station closures in London seem to be the result of ill staff. So if more staff become ill, it's lockdown anyway.

My God, literally villages and towns being wiped out in Italy daily, its heartbreaking and scary.

Very worried about the UK on our doorstep taking such a relaxed attitude, its too close to home. I don't think any of us will have ever lived through anything that looks like coming in the next few weeks.
    Hold on a second
We don't even a a breakdown of anything
All we have is the numbers of infected from testing number of deaths ECT,
We don't have the break down figures to back up your statement

Not the time or place to discuss politics, but he has done some damage to the party just now, what utter rubbish!

Although to be fair I'm watching Boris right now, not much more sense there....
