You don't need to get back on track in just one day though. A jump of 20 extra and today and 31-32% jumps thereafter will bring you to the same figure.

I believe today or tomorrow more testing kits arrive so In the next week confirmed cases will automatically rise

I'm inclined to think that President Garrison would do a better job.

90/365 is about the 25 percent mark..

100 + today is the 30 percent mark

Do the maths taking your example. Yesterday 475 people died. If each truck takes 10 coffins as you say? I'd say it's more like 6 or 7 if laid out flat.but even using your estimate of ten. Thats the whole of Italy. So not just that town but Bergamo is an epicentre so a video with 10 trucks transporting coffins is not fake news IMHO.

    475 / 10 = 47.5 trucks.

I don't think it is an exaggeration at all. People are finding it hard to grasp the scale of this problem. Glad the government is procuring equipment on a grand scale to deal with this. Turning a stadium into a testing centre. Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures.

Grim thinking but hard to not agree .... temporary morgue locations throughout the country will undoubtedly have already been located

We can all play our part stay at home

People are trying to place too much reliance on reported "cases". It seems there is little if any consistency in testing, or indeed how long it takes test figures and results to come through

Even the deaths figures are being distorted as some countries are not including people with underlying symptoms where this virus may have contributed to the death. However they are the most reliable stats we have

    Curious here...

If an elderly person with existing conditions contracts regular seasonal flu and dies.. how is that recorded?

Things look really bad in Indonesia.

309 known cases and 25 deaths. That's eerily similar to the Iran ratio from just a while back.

He is a political disaster , but he was never a politician
Economy wise the States are (where) In the best shape for a very long time because of him ,

Personal I don't like the guy but never in history has there been so many nonsense stories and miss quotes from certain media outlets about an American president , No coincidence he is the first president trying to actively stop all the bank hander and corruption of others in Washington

He has his own money so can't be blackmailed or bought its pretty scary for all those that have been getting away with shady deals forever in the states ,

I posted this a couple of days ago re: the fact that many experts are saying that the confirmed cases are just the tip of the iceberg and there are huge numbers of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic people everywhere VS the encouraging numbers coming out of China. Still don’t get it...

“See, this is what I don’t get. If this is correct (and I actually think he’s right) then how can China have, as they claim, almost eradicated it from the country. Unless they have tested absolutely everyone in China, then surely there must be 100s of 1000s of unknown asymptomatic people in the country”

Does anyone know if contact tracing teams are using google timeline in google maps to help with their efforts. I was able to tell almost all of the places I've been in the last month down to the exact shop and the exact time. If there was some ability to download this and send it on to the contact tracing team it would be an amazing tool to create a web of possible contacts. Im aware this is spilling into gdpr issues and what not, but for the majority of us we are opted in to this so may as well make the most of it.

In H. G. Wells 1897 science fiction novel ‘ The War of the Worlds’ invading Martians are eventually "slain, after all man's devices had failed, by the humblest things that God, in his wisdom, has put upon this earth": microbes.

It looks like Trump's assault on decency, truth, democracy and on the planet's future will be halted by a virus.

Ok, orange man aside, do you think their government has handled this well so far?

It's hard to get a full picture. Depends on which media and sources you consume. Also I have friends and family in New York and Florida who report everywhere is closed and people are working from home. They have have thrown a ton of money at the problem but like Italy , Spain etc the response is reactionary rather than proactive. I understand there were major issues with testing at the start.

I think Ireland and Irish people are doing a fantastic job but it's much easier as we are a smal country. It's not so straight forward in a country with 300 million people and different laws and regulations in different states.

People are so quick to jump down trump's throat without looking at the state our European neighbours are in. Trump was first to suggest a travel ban now most countries have followed.
People need a boogeyman. They won't criticize the Germans, Italians or Spanish though
