They are popular especially among 7-17 age group who don't watch traditional tv any more and 18-49 group who like to binge watch programs and movies

The fact they are accessible worldwide is huge factor for many.

I find I can relate to the concept of zombie invasions more than the nazis amongst us themes?

Nobody can be bothered torrenting stuff anymore and they'd rather pay the tenner a month. But now families in the States are spending on average 600 bucks a year on these services so there will be a backlash soon especially since they keep increasing their prices

Every media conglomerate now wants to exploit thier own intellectual property rather than sell it to Netflix or Amazon, I'd say things will be messy for a good few years then the market will streamline as the smaller players get squeezed out and we end up back where we began if not with the same companies maybe.

They letterboxed it to us, in an experimental ratio so it can then be transmitted through our phones  if it’s not utilising all of your television screen’s potential wash your hands of it

It's actually not though, theirs always something worth watching on it. With the other streaming services you can run out of things to watch. Normal tv is garbage

Disney tv is for young people ,all under 18 content.
netflix showed streaming tv works, millions of people will pay for it
10 years ago most people did not have fast broadband.
Different corporations own different tv shows ,
and film,s , so they see a chance to make more money.
Also most people do not buy dvds anymore.
theres no more video rental stores .
people are giving up cable tv,
but its sad when your favourite show is only avaidable on a streaming service.
You can still watch free tv on saorview or a fta satellite reciever .free sat etc
First there was napster ,then streaming music, spotify,
streaming tv is the next gold rush for companys .

Netflix showed it can work, and now other companies are jumping on the bandwagon. Eventually there will be too many streaming services, and because of the costs of constantly subscribing to all of them people will consider buying physical media again for titles they want to have indefinite access to but don't want to pay for anything else a particular streaming service has to offer. It's a bubble like many other phases in the history of entertainment and at a certain point it will burst.

I don't find that. I can't find anything recently i would like to watch. No good comedies etc.

It was good a couple of years ago. But right now ..nope ...maybe it will pick up again.

Like my Dad my bro and my mom all have their accounts set up on Netflix ..i don't even bother!

And if they put their stuff on ..i ask to see the menu..nothing i would want to watch.

Normal tv is garbage too mind!

There are many because various companies think there is a demand.
The services that won't be used will vanish.

So many streaming services and they are all crap.

There is nothing like good old fashioned T.V.

Now TV are running a deal of €7.50 for the first 6 months so got that last night. They have the HBO stuff so I figure that's worth it.

Our house has Netflix too but I just find that they are losing the balance. Sure there's still some legitimately good TV on there, but they are going more and more down the path of crap reality TV or trash basic TV (think Power). I'm not saying every show they pump out needs to be prestige drama but more and more the cheaper, easier content is the way they are going.

It all started with various studios and the likes ****ting themselves at torrenting and then streaming when their ignorance of thinking shutting down a particular site meant it was over and done with

Then Netflix came and had such a great selection for €10 a month most of use thought fair enough not bad for that price.

The media ran various articles about how the consumer will choose legal means if for a fair price a new age they said

Then every sports organisation, practically every production company saw Netflix growth and revenue and think "oh we'd like a slice of that" let's keep our 1 or 2 shows that people watch and stick em on our own service

Now nearly every 2nd good show or sport is spread amongst God knows how many services, you'd nearly end up paying far more than Sky ever cost a month

Torrenting isn't as popular and likely not to be cause streaming is much easier in real time now and plenty sites out there.

So we are coming full circle again. People will just stream illegally now instead of potentially hundereds euro a month

Whats all these steaming services people are talking about. I can only think of about 4, which is hardly too many. There must be a lot I've never heard of.

Everyone wants a slice of the pie basically and ironically all it's doing is driving people back to piracy.

Netflix is really hard to give up given its price and how handy it is.
If sky was priced well, I'd have no problem signing up to it, but it's sheer ridiculous.

    Power was brilliant!

Well last season was terrible but was pretty good prior to that.

Used to do it but now glad to pay for content at a reasonable price which the streaming services offer as they need money in order to make content.
