Just wondering in regards to car insurance, what’s the story if I have built up 2 years no claims in my own name and next year take a year out and only drive as a named driver on someone else’s policy? Will my no claims disappear? Is there a way around this?

    Cheers

NCB lasts for 2 years from the end of your last policy, some insurers used to do 3 years but not sure if thats still the case.

Ah right, so I could possibly get 2 years on a named insurance? I’m 20 myself and struggling to get a reasonable quote (if any quote at all) so trying to look at alternatives for a year or 2 and come back when I’m older!

Are you trying on other cars than the Golf GTI you mentioned before?

Yep trying to look at other options, just testing the waters so far!
