"Asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic transmission are a major factor in transmission for Covid-19," said Dr. William Schaffner, a professor at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and longtime adviser to the CDC. "They're going to be the drivers of spread in the community."

I actually worked it out. I've donated > 3 times to 5 Italian Hospitals.

And do you think your donation will do more or less than Berlusconi's 10 million will?

To think you're having a go at someone who has donated ten MILLION, regardless of their legal history....

    The mind boggles.

Why are they using the 30% figure going forwards?

These are the strangest of times for sure. Not only do people have to worry about a threat to their physical health, but their mental health too. Not only are people afraid of themselves or their loved ones catching the virus, they’re afraid they won’t have a job to walk into next week. Anyone who scoffs at the mental health effects this will have on people need to get a grip. While the recession was crippling, at the very least people could still visit loved ones. Now not only can you not go anywhere or do much of anything, but there is a physical distance between most families and loved ones too.

This. I'm half way across the world from my family. I dont know when I will see them again at this stage. Really regret not coming home for a visit last year, I thought it wasnt a big deal, sure I'd be over this year. I wont take anything for granted after this (assuming there is an "after")

Wonder if the casts of TV soaps go into isolation before the cameras?

    Art imitating life?

(Don't watch soaps so no idea if they're doing this already)

Live in Bray and took a walk and went to supermarket.

People have no idea about social distancing at all. Saw a queue at chipper on seafront and people on top of each other queuing.

Then in Lidl, with clear floor distance markings, a man, not that young, stood right next to me, far too close for even normal times. I asked him had he not heard of social distancing and he just said sorry.

Also, saw a few groups of teenagers hanging around together all very close.

Nothing is going to stop this behaviour except an enforced lockdown.

So, that was only one trial.

Perhaps Italy's hospitals would be better equipped if persistent large scale tax fraud wasn't a thing.

I’ve a query re asymptomatic transition. How can it spread if a person is not coughing/sneezing? Is it through other means like kissing on the cheek etc

Is that based on a business as usual approach, or does it take into account the interventions?

Whats that modeled on, Roger This ?

I can tell you now, its far too conservative. There will be exponential growth over the next 2 weeks. They have really only started testing now. They had qualifiers long fingering testing. More testing now happening. Those figures are going to sky rocket. By the end of this week we will seen a massive jump

Taoiseach making announcent at 9pm tonight. We are gonna see more lockdown. Brits have made a mess of containment in UK.

I don't think the op was complaining about the amount of money given, more about the fact that that would've been money due to the State anyway, and that he'll probably get a tax rebate on that charity donation, too. So, he's getting money back on money he shouldn't have had in the first place.
What a guy. Shrewd businessman, you have to give that to him.

Our recovery numbers are practically 0 (5) That's crazy, countries with same amount of cases , Singapore have 114 recovered.
Why is no one recovering ?

It's only been about 9 days since the first case was detected !
I know it seems like ages. Give it some time. Unfortunately it takes time for people to die also so expect that too.

At the same time The number of serious cases has been at 6 since 13th March and I find that suspicious as 2 died since then but the number stayed at 6.

See, this is what I don’t get. If this is correct (and I actually think he’s right) then how can China have, as they claim, almost eradicated it from the country. Unless they have tested absolutely everyone in China, then surely there must be 100s of 1000s of unknown asymptomatic people in the country.

I think weekly episodes will be cut to one or two to show what has already only been filmed, they film 4 to 6 weeks in advance

Petrol stations should have a person pumping the fuel. The spread on those pumps much be huge considering the thousands of hands that handle them.
