    It specifically says the opposite...

People taking immunosuppressants for their Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis are not at increased risk of catching novel coronavirus, however they may be at extra risk of complications from the virus if they are infected.

That is the same rationale for diabetes, heart issues etc being in the high risk category. Having heart issues doesn't mean you are more likely to catch the virus, but it does mean you are increased risk if you do catch it.

    Why?

    Seriously this isn't personal.

    Its medical advice.

That guy on CB talking about the food business mentioned healthcare workers doing triple shifts,
    has this already happened?
I had read else where hospitals were the quietest they had been in years over the last few days

Claire finishing with the “please follow protocols and advise”. All well and good but it sounds like she has followed some dodgy advice from her GP, self isolation and ordering a test because she has shown symptoms of a cold.

Well if restrictions are lifted and China go back to normal, what’s to stop the populous getting c19 again? They wouldn’t have built up immunity, and we don’t have a vaccine so how won’t they be reinfected?

I am not quite sure if you understand a virus has a shelf life.

Yes, same as other corona viruses or flues, once it peaks, it does not have the rate that it may have had.

This is not perpetual and we will see many more of these, but different strains in our lifetime imho.

Did you get your H1n1 vaccine recently?

What are your friends generally like? Do they get the flu injection every year? Anyone of your friends get the flu injection and came down with the symptoms you described.

I was reading another forum, an English forum and there's a thread about the same. Many people came down with the similar bug that you described here.

I'm late to the party here, but my mum came down with something awful in January. She's still in bed. Pneumonia seems to be gone, but considering she spent Christmas abroad, it's a thought that's been niggling the last few days...

ETA she's had the flu vaccine so wouldn't be that.

Posting from England. On the one hand I'm extremely glad the government have changed their tone and will seemingly do whatever is necessary just like most other countries. On the other hand it's bloody terrifying!

There is zero medical advice that if you have Crohn's you'd be gone quickly as you put it. Please go educate yourself and don't be so insensitive.

OK look if I'm wrong I apologise.

Working / worked for South Korea.
South Korea have over 79 laboratories carrying out testing.

Nationwide testing has only been rolled out this week in Ireland.

A treatment for Malaria is showing favorable results for this virus, and readily available too apparently

I heard an virologist on the radio the other day saying that funding for SARS research and the SARS vaccine was pulled when the SARS epidemic died down. I think it was on Pat Kenny. She reckoned we would be much closer to a vaccine for Covid19 if that funding had remained and they had completed the program and trials.

Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce will receive no pay for three months.

People with symptoms that may indicate they have the virus are the ones that should be tested as per instructions from the HSE and government.

May I suggest you do a bit more in depth research based on fewer assumptions.

People who stay at home can infect noone.

Not everyone can stay at home, lucky those that can but its not an option for many.

People who still coming and going for work will bring the virus home with them and infect their families.
