Does the Italian doctor in this 2:10 not say they are already using these drugs?

We are using antiretrovirals and hydroxychloroquine here but trials are important to help figure out if people got better because of the drugs or just got better themselves. In the ICU patients it is appropriate to use them as they don't do significant harm usually and there is anecdotal evidence they may help.

The HSE has produced a great document on using experimental drugs for COVID.

European cases at around 65,000 now, growing by at least 7000 daily, will have more cases than China by the end of the week.

Is there a camera man/woman in the shed with her?

I don't know but I'm sure we can all speculate.

If she's in isolation who's behind the camera.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,193 ✭✭✭screamer

If she’s sick, she shouldn’t be working, irrespective of being in self isolation, it sends out the totally wrong message..... if you’re sick, you’re sick you don’t keep working.

Anyone know whether the travel ban will include Ireland to the UK?

My partner was due to fly over for Easter to visit family and they’re getting quite upset now, not knowing when they’ll next be home. Hasn’t seen them since Christmas/New Years.

Yeah, no that trip is not going to happen.... Join the club.

People need to face facts here, people will die and people will survive. This isn't the end we will work through it.
The world can't stop indefinitely to fight a virus that largely kills the elderly.

If it can't be controlled we will eventually have to look at the greater good and let it spread. Its going to be survival of the fittest unfortunately.

The largest economy in the world shut it's self down for 2 months to fight a virus that largely kills the elderly, and it would appear to be winning that fight, they posted a lower infection rate today than we did despit them no doubt testing thousands more people.
We in the western world are too selfish to do the same, we love our sky sports and a few jars on the weekend to much.

You'll be an old man one day too.

They didn't all get infected on the same day.

The deaths we're seeing now relate to people who were infected some time ago. It's going to keep increasing for some time. Hopefully we'll see their lockdown kick in at some point, but for a while at least those numbers are going to get worse and worse.

We're also not seeing the overall death rate figures. And that's where the really bad news is hidden.

Why are we not seeing the overall death rate figures. Who is hiding figures from us. I get they weren't all infected the same day but surely hundreds of thousands must have been infected a few weeks ago.

Jut came across this thread this evening....

Regarding the bad winter flu season.... I would be fairly certain that as soon as covid -19 was recognised, typed and individually identifiable that somebody would have went down to medical records in nearly every hospital and pulled out a random selection of blood samples from hospitalised people over the winter and had a look....

Work. Luckily my job is 99.9%isolated from contact with other people. As Long as I can get from my car to my work space without interacting with anybody. which is fairly easy in my case.
