Hi, thinking of getting one of these interactive pen systems for our 4 year old son. Just looking for any opinions, reviews, experiences people might have had? Thanks in advance.

I never saw the point in any of the leap frog stuff. I consider it expensive and it leads to buying more stuff for their systems, which a kid will quickly outgrow.

I've an Amazon fire tablet, setup with a child's profile. And since getting my amazon account setup as a UK account, they are able to get the Kids Freetime stuff with it. And their content will adapt to the age of the kid.

I have to say I agree with Drav.If you are buying for pen control or education, I wouldn't bother.He will start from scratch in JI anyway, if that is what you are thinking of, so it won't be of any real benefit.

Leap pad for the wee girl is one of the best things we've gotten her. She loves it, gets lots of use (and reuse) out of the books and it's a must for car journeys.

Personally I'd rather be putting a book into her hands as a distraction than a screen - at least some of the time. Plus it's easy to replace a couple of AA batteries in a hurry and you never need wifi on the go.

Bought some of the stuff for my son. It all ended up in the drawer never to be seen again.
My second hasn't been traumatized by not having it.
