No not since the schools closed. She's an only child. Skype is fine but this could be months. I'm not being selfish but she is my daughter and I love but I'm obv torn.

Only you can make the decision at the end of the day.
The higher the social interactions the higher the risk of infection

If this 2 week lockdown works and we see a reduction of cases towards the end of it, do we not run the risk of reigniting it when we return to normal again?

It's not going to be 2 weeks for starters.

The lockdown won’t be for 2 weeks.

But trump promised the insurance companies will help out

You know him, he was lying, he knows they will help themselves, as usual.

We're 10 to 12 weeks away from the peak according to my doctor, I hope you don't have a day job.

According to this we are 3 weeks behind Italy. (date 100 cases reached). That assumes we carried out similar testing early on which I don't think we did. Either way interesting. Shows how strict measures work.

This virus is rampant everywhere now.

Really hope it won't be so bad here. Maybe wishful thinking now.

Is there a clear idea of the criteria for testing, and reporting of testing, being used in other countries?
Ireland's significantly reduced the criteria now and is ramping up testing which is a very good thing for getting a more accurate picture of the disease. Are other countries following the same conditions or is it like we had where they'd only test if you were recently in a hot zone or had confirmed contact with another carrier?

It's a very tough situation to be in. What's happening out there is changing on a daily/hourly basis. However its seemingly more likely that while you love your daughter, with the way things are as of now in Ireland, you'll have to not see her and hopefully her mum will be open to giving you more time to catch up on lost time when it's all over. Best of Luck

Jesus, that’s a tough decision. I would limit your face to face visits to once a month, Skype at other times. Try to have the face to face visits outdoors, do all the hand washing obvs. You need to get her mam on board so that they’re social distancing as much as possible too. Good luck man!

The UK science advisor said that they expected the peak in 2-3 months and subsidence to take 2-3 months more. May-June peak and July-October subsidence.

China went into lockdown two months ago now, is another way of looking at it, and is only gradually lifting restrictions.
