First and Second place in PL should have one game to decide who wins it.

Looks like UK complacency and inaction is going to give Liverpool the opportunity to wrap this up.

The science advice was that shutting down public events and so moving people indoors (ie bustling pubs and clubs) would create a greater problem than allowing large crowds to assemble outside. So logically travelling the Underground to a game (in London) is far more dangerous than the game and that's almost certainly the case.

How stupid is that, with a 25 point gap.

    Idiotic.

We should start with a 25 goal advantage then. Simple. :)

The UK have obviously decided to take the hit up front, let it spread and run riot for a short while and then everything goes back to normal. We are going for the long drawn out saga with early closures and hoping to battle it out. All travel between both islands needs to stop immediately or our strategy is knackered.

Well it's a bit more nuanced than that - schools open - children at school, schools closed - children at home with granny who gets the virus off the child (who is grand) and then falls ill. Ditto sporting events - 50,000 outdoors less of a risk than 50,000 watching the game indoors with "fecund" pub air quality promoting germ spread.

I'm also more and more fearful of an all-out cancellation.

Artera tests positive and Benji Mendy self isolating. I think we're done with football for a while.

Didn't we already win that match??

I think it’s done for too.

Here's hoping we beat Everton & Burnley beat City this weekend. Then nobody can take this title off us.

Meeting between the PL and clubs tomorrow now in the wake of the Arteta news.

Miguel Delaney saying "sources" at clubs disagreed with decision to continue playing and have called for the season to be "voided".

    His wording, not mine.

Worth noting that other reporters confirming the meeting but not the rest of what Miguel is saying.

So the PL will get suspended tomorrow, meaning the earliest title win record is gone ( for date anyway, surely the earliest by number of games is on) , but what will happen is the unbeatable record of latest win will happen. No one will ever win the title in July again. :)

    League's done now probably.

Liverpool should approach La Liga or the Bundesliga if the league is called void. I cannot see it being called void though.

Both leagues would love to add Liverpool to their top tiers.

There be ****ing riots if they dont give us the league title.

Suspend the league for a few weeks until it clears up and then play behind closed doors.

Gross negligence if games are played tbh

Miguel Delaney is prone to freestyle reporting. I'll wait for someone else to confirm.

Most likely behind closed doors now.

Read something on the covid thread that PL are allowing freeview of all matches this weekend for subscribers but not providing access to pubs.

Can see football cancelled soon though, just like Serie A.

Sooner we get those 6 points the better!

    Source?

Miguel Delaney saying on Twitter that some clubs want the season voided.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,790 ✭✭✭brevity

We should sign this Corona Virus fella. Always plays well against us. Took 6 points off us and cost us the league.

    Source?

    Logic
