They announced at the end of today’s exam that tomorrow and Monday are going ahead.

The rumour mill is going crazy here. We really need some confirmation from the law society... A mass email isn't that difficult now is it?!

It’s joke we shouldn’t be given the choice (your health is your wealth) and they shouldn’t be telling students who ring them what’s going to happen without sending out mass email!!!Totally unfair adding to the hysteria of it all

The invigilators were discussing how to divide the room after today’s exam and made the announcement that it is confirmed exams will be accommodated.

It's so difficult with all this going on

I can't understand how the idea of dividing candidates into smaller rooms is in any way a pre-caution when it's going to be a mass gathering in the Red Cow anyway?
Monday is set to be my last exam, but I'd prefer to hold my health in good condition. A blanket decision, as opposed to a choice for candidates, is a far more responsible decision.

The invigilators in Neptune wouldn't take the legislation of me and a couple of others- they said keep it until tomorrow until we all know for sure and they can check them quickly in the morning.

That'll stop the spread of a virus. Moving desk a bit further apart. It's not as if the average human cough travels at 50mph :D

So much travel from around the country.
Blackhall exams in red cow in afternoons too so who knows who was at the desk before you!

Making me very angry that such an important body such as the law society is trying to find loopholes in vital government advice - lawyers for you!!

Study being badly affected, totally unfair either pull the plug and postpone for a few weeks or don't. Without knowing the future possible dates or risk involved cannot make any decisions, very confusing time.

My uncle reckons they are going to introduce emergency legislation this evening to make gatherings over 100 people illegal? :pac:

Judging by the Law Societies current response, they'll just throw 99 people in a room. Because 100 people spreads it. 99 is the sweet spot where we're all safe

Watched the press conference and someone asked about weddings!
Tony Holohan said advice extended to all social gatherings and they expect it to be taken seriously!

Agree! Extremely incompetent response when we’re relying so greatly on them for guidance!

Greed and a lack of consideration for public health

I would say the lack of a mass email yet likely means they haven't reached a definite decision, anything we hear until then (although most likely what will happen) is just rumour

Don’t you just know that they will send out an email at 5/6pm this evening basically whatever time their offices close!!!so that nobody can be in the office to answer phones or genuine concerned questions that students will have over the fate of the last two fe1s

I want to get these exams over with but why should we be the exception to public health advice?!

    Incredibly torn

    This is ridiculous.

Just spoke with someone in the Law Society and he told me that a statement is going to be released within the next hour, so they must know what course of action they're taking.

They def Don have a decision made. They are only saying it's going ahead because if they say it is and it doesn't it's fine but if they say it isn't and then turns out it could go ahead they would have postponed for nothing

I'm seeing the future lawyer in you, Ciaran. Very acute observation.

Plus if they say it's postponed and it's then not, people relax a bit, put the notes down. Then bam, exam on Monday with less preparation :D We'd all be complaining about that too
