It would be but City will beat Burnley. I wouldn't be too confident that Liverpool will beat Everton either.

Absolutely gutted about the result. Thought there were some great performances out there.

it's cruel that one mistake can catch you out at this stage.

Unless my tin foil hat conspiracy theory from the other day comes in to play! :pac:

Dont think the champions league will finish either think it will all come to a halt for couple of months and then its case of where does it fit in the calendar

Bit disappointed when I awoke, but overall it is what it is. **** it, more important things to concentrate on.

Sub-keepers are sub-keepers for a reason. **** all point worrying sbout it.

Wrap up the league and celebrate it. At my age, my liver doesnt open for business like it once did, but Im sure as hell gonna make it! 2/3 days beering incoming, hopefully next weekend if not this one!

Thought Liverpool were outstanding last night, the number of second balls they won in dangerous positions was unbelievable. We should have won the game in normal time. Once it goes to extra time, they have 30 mins to get an away goal. That's a major advantage. Onwards and upwards.

    • Simeone was/is getting all the plaudits for a masterclass of a plan. If his plan was to ride their luck, get battered for 90 mins and rely on the best keeper in the world to bail them out, then that was sme plan. No one saw it coming. Not even himself I'd say
    • Gomes was pants. He's a good player, but I prefer Matip. He "defending" for the second goal was so bad. If he went backwards any faster he'd have gone back into Tuesday.
    • Adrian's mistake was awful. There's a massive gulf in ability between him and Alisson. If the keepers were swapped, Liverpool would have won 8-0.
    • Salah was very wasteful. It seemed he was saving himself for the last 20 mins because he appeared to really turn it on after 70 mins.
    • The Ox was outstanding. He's coming into good form now. I hope he doesn't get a bad injury again.
    • Oblak really is the best keeper in the world. Anyone reckon he'd stop Covid-19 and all?

I'm absolutely gutted about last night, best 90mins I've seen us play for ages, football is a crazy old game

So, it looks ever likely that the PL will be locked down.

Will the season be chalked off or will they just award us the title for the season?

Not that im bothered but how will that affect the top 4 situation seeing as UTD and Chelsea are pretty close?

I sent this message in to one of my Liverpool group chats last night (see pic) & I'm just after seeing this on Twitter now, he's being silly.

He's still only a 16 year old kid mind, but a lot of growing up to do.

Gutted, as we were the better team by a substantial amount. Performance warranted winning it in normal time, and possibly by a few goals really.

As soon as Atleti got their goal though, we were flattened.

Tough loss, but hard to be annoyed with the performance. Just really unlucky the way it played out.

    Oblak was absolutely immense.

Who says it'll be locked down, we can have it wrapped up on sat wk anyway

It will be behind closed doors, that way clubs and leagues still get their TV money.

Major damage on match day revenues and local economies though.

I think I saw that only 5 teams need fans financially on matchday in the EPL, everyone else is covered through TV and other deals.

F*CKING sick this morning. That was a great opportunity to go all the way in the champions league again.

Well even Liverpool's match day revenues have improved over the last few years. It is important tat's why they built the new stand and also are extending Anfield Road end.

    Hard to take,

One of our best ever European performances right up till Adrian made a meal of that kick ,

How hard is it to get a second keeper that is just good and doesn't make absolute cock ups , Southampton, Brighton ,Chelsea, last night , off the top of my head , 3 of them under absolute no pressure it wouldn't be good enough for Sunday league ,

Also might sound harsh but he still should have saved the shot ,

never understood the logic of away goals counting in extra time. One side get 120 mins to score away goals whilst the other only has 90, its always been a contentious one in my opinion. Not just after last night of course :P

Having slept on it I can say I'm over it now, obviously it's easy to get wound up after it happens but 3 european finals in 3 seasons is incredible and like anything it has to come to an end, the manner of the defeat is tough to take as I thought we did enough to win over 90 but c'est la vie that's football and we go on.

Certainly a bit of doom and gloom with the coronavirus, I'd expect nothing but 2 professional wins in the next 2 games to see it over the line, hard to know if games will be suspended or what from now on I dont see the season being cancelled. A guilty pleasure I have now is the other crowd harping on about their history and how some of their past teams are better than liverpool side which means feck all as we stroll to a premier league title, these are the glory days we yearned for for seasons and I love how the tables have turned.

Im not too annoyed about the CL as we played superb.

But the Virus could cost us the title.
The league will be suspended soon.

Would not put it past the PL too annual the season. As next few months no football will be played.

I've always thought it to be a bit of an oversight, yeah.

So Liverpool are now limping to the title with a 25 point gap. Unreal must have been written by a Manc.

Very pissed off from last night. In fairness they hung in, Oblak was immense, and we weren't clinical when we needed to be but if it was anyone other than Oblak it would have been 3 or 4.

I really wanted us to beat Atleti since their antics in the first leg. I didn't care about winning the CL, just as long as we knocked them out.

What can you do RE Adrian? It's not like you can have two world class goalkeepers. Anyway **** it, we've won two cups this season with a league title on the way.

Must be the other things going on in the world, but I honestly don't even care at the moment. I said I was gutted last night, think it was more just shock but I didn't give it much thought after. Strange feeling

its a pretty easy solve though, away goals count during 90 mins, but overall score is all that counts after 120 mins.

Say we had won 3-2 last night after extra time (1-0 at full time) then it should be called a draw and penalties required.

We have all seen home teams being stung on away goals in extra time when they recorded same results home and away.
