If they were serious about stopping the spread then they would have suspended all public gatherings before Cheltenham. Hard to know what direction they'll go in.

One of the biggest sporting events in the UK every year and one that would affect Ireland more than a few weeks of soccer with the amount of Irish who travel over.

Think I heard on sky news that they are going to go into the delay phase in the UK from tomorrow, whatever that means, prob games played behind closed doors

With the WHO officially declaring a global pandemic today they might be left with no option but to ban all mass gatherings of people including sporting events possibly for a few weeks, maybe a few months who knows.

At a minimum I would think and possibly suspended altogether.

Oblak was superb. It happens. As we know from our own past travails, goalkeeper is the most underrated position on the field.

    They had one. We didn't.

The team controlled the game utterly, and were ahead with 25 left. No danger, and the keeper fúcks it. We were in position.

The attack gets very little blame from me.

Adrian aside, the attack has to get the blame. Shooting instead of passing, passing instead of shooting...

Slim margins as you said but in the killer moments our composure wasn't there.
Yeah it's hard but exhale, relax and then shoot or assist.

Devastated and pushing VVD forward annoyed me.

I thought Salah was excellent throughout

Excellent on the ball, but his passing was brutal. Completely misplacing 10 yard passes under little pressure.

Can totally forgive him, since he does so much more, and destroys his man 9 times out of 10, but if he could just complete simple passes it'd make a big difference.

Generally, I'm gutted. And I'm angry at Adrian. But I also just feel really sorry for him. He obviously knows it's ultimately his fault. He's the one that has to go into training with those lads tomorrow, and likely line up behind them next Monday. And he'll also know that his face is gonna be all over every paper tomorrow, and that he probably already has thousands of vitriolic posts waiting for him on whatever social media he uses, along with more than a few stupid death threats to boot. He ****ed up a pass, slicing it instead of booting it, and it cost us big. But the punishment he'll get is probably a lot more than that warrants.

Excellent tactics deployed by Klopp. Some outstanding individual performances Gini, Ox, Trent & Salah.

I thought Robertson was very poor on the ball. His shot on the edge of the box epitomised his ability on the ball. It got to the stage where Atletico flooded our right side to stop that threat & quality , leaving left side free & Robertson and Mane was very ineffective. Mane was very poor. Shot selection, passing, take on’s .. very disappointing.

Adrian, has had an absolute mare. 2 mistakes in the first goal, gives it away & then poor at the save attempt, jumps with both feet in air in anticipation & slips? Why jump like that? Should be saving the other 2, schoolboy angles.

All in all, terrible night. Season unravelling before the eyes but just so happy to finally get thst Premier League over the line.

A centre forward, a left full and 2 centre midfielders & go back out next season for the double

Should have put away more chances and all but they did incredibly well to play like that and make thetwo goals.

Tbh, it looked like two might be enough and we'd actually get a third until he did what he did.

I find it hard blaming the attack or.any of the other lads who were amazing.

Only finished up watching the game now. Another chapter of poor goalkeepers costing Liverpool, a trilogy of books easily written at this stage. I've had about 2-3 seasons of Reina and the last 1.5 years of Allison, the other years, ****ing bottlers between the sticks. Adrian had barely anything to do but managed to mess up all of them.

The performance 2-11 was ****ing fantastic, one of the best they've produced but oh well.

It's not going to affect the result.

Cant fault the performance last night, i thought the lads were excellent and put in a great shift.

One mistake ruined it all though. Anyway its all about getting back the league title this year.

Really happy with how they played last night, obviously the result is a huge disappointment but the performance is a credit to them. Some things I enjoyed watching this morning
    - Klopp quietly fuming at the press conference, admitting he's a bad loser but gracious in defeat
    - Simone saying Liverpool were the best team he has faced in his 8 years in charge
    - Klopp backing Adrian, a certain Tottenham manager and some posters in here could take note
    - Salah

Klopp backed Karius as well, then shipped him out. Take proper note.

Liverpool have put it some very average performances this year and probably when you look at every match in isolation we have only had 5/6 excellent performances with a goat against Leicester but last night was right up there great intensity shown plenty of chances created and on another night we would be hailing another European night masterclass
Only downside for me was when Madrid scored we had zero response offered very little maybe even mentally looked beaten

Honestly can’t see the competition getting finished if I’m honest trip cancelling flights to Europe his puppet in number 10 won’t be far behind and with some European countries on their knees atm just can’t see it getting it done

Just pray to god the premier league manages to get two games played and we win them both

Klopp never throws his players under the bus

I know, but he doesn't stall when they aren't good enough either. He acknowledges it, and moves them on. We're not the manager, don't have to worry about Adrian seeing our comments, so we can say he screwed up and has too many mistakes in him to have him relied upon when Allison isn't there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,855 ✭✭✭✭8-10

The plan was never going to be Adrian playing 17 games this season but that's what he's on right now. I don't know what the right answer is. If you spend money on a better reserve keeper next season he might not play at all.

lads the premier league will be cancelled. only matter of time.

Players will get it, meaning no games behind closed doors even.

    Disaster all round

yeah but that's the way to do it. I don't think it's the same problem. Adrian's not a bad back up. The problem is you never want to be using your back up keeper in important games.

Here's hoping none of the Arsenal players caught it from the Forest owner. If they did then it'll be difficult to see the season not postponed in anyway.

It`s looking more and more likely. Better get those 6 points ASAP and even then it still might not count if the season is abandoned.

If this weekend`s games all get played without disruption they will be doing well.
