Looks like this has caught on in Ireland now, was in the supermarket and half the aisle was empty. What is the logic behind bulk buying toilet paper what do people thing this will solve?

You won't be asking that when you have to clean your arse with a dish cloth!

I saw a post here which said it's because one genius posted on social media that all loo roll was made on China and supply could be cut off. Diarrhoea isn't a symptom of Covid-19.

I wouldn't mind if you have to stay at home and self isolate for 2 weeks then if you run out of loo roll there's always the shower to clean your behind. It does a better job then toilet paper and probably better for the environment.

I think the story is going around on social media that most toilet paper is made in China and supplies of it are about to dry up. See what I did there? That, and sliced pan is a bit "been there, done that, and nearly died of constipation from gorging on crappy, low-end white bread".

I got looks yesterday buying a large pack of loo roll. Not panic buying but normal shopping. Family of 4 down to 2 rolls!
As soon as I put them in the trolley others started grabbing them like it was an emergency

I don't get the panic over needing to self isolate either. You could get someone to drop things into you, they need to be in your company for more than 5 seconds to catch anything, or they could leave it at the door.

I don't think any of us will starve or have shıtty bottoms.

I bought it to build a fort, if things get bad I will take refuge inside

Is that an "either, or" choice? Just asking

I plan on stocking up on it for later. Its not that i need it, its that every country who gets bad cases of the virus seems to have it go out of stock in the shops quickly.
So people buy it to avoid shortage, and people buy it cause shortages. I dont see there being a supply shortage realistically

Yes, choose carefully and God speed.

It is stupid when you think about it.
Some video comes out about people fighting over toilet roll in Australia. Then people follow in suit to buy buy buy half way across the globe.

Don't be too quick to ditch the sliced pan there, you need a lot less toilet paper when you're constipated!

Or in a real emergency you could always wipe your arse with bread:D

If I had my way anyone found doing this would be horse whipped publicly

Suicide still claims more lives every day than any virus and I do not see as much endorsement of kindness or compassion on the same scale to help.

    So it begins: The Bogpocalypse.

The only thing worse than the coronaflu...... an empty toilet roll holder.

What's wrong with hanging your arse over the bath and showing the ****e off your hole? Join the sink pisser movement to save some water too.

I read online that it was a symptom of panic buying. People in an emergency feel they need to gather resources. Loo roll is a large package, prominently displayed. Primitive mind thinks, that's important, and in it goes to the trolley.

I picked up a large pack in Aldi over the weekend, because that's what I normally buy when I need to buy them.

I'll be accepting offers in excess of 1 million dollery doos.

They are bulk buying it in a pointless panic because they are sh1tting themselves already.

I hope Adverts and Donedeal are installing extra servers to cope with all the toilet roll ads. Hand sanitiser ads have drastically increased in the last 3 days!

You don't need it and you don't see there being a supply shortage but yet you admit that you are going to stock up on it anyway. Basically you are perpetuating the stupidity.

Yes, completely. Yet SHOULD i be wrong about shortage, I dont have to worry about it as much.
Assuming I am right in my predictions leaves some risk for me, being cautious even though i don't think it likely to be a shortage, ill be good in either situations.
We never know how things play out.

This morning i am isolated for the next 7 days due to medication making it extra dangerous for me to be outside now. I am glad i stocked up on lots of medical and food stuffs supplies. I am very lucky of the timing and i am very glad i dont assume my predictions are right.

That pic brought me back to my supermarket shelf stacking days fadó fadó.

One chap would arrive in on a Sat morning hungover. He would proceed to climb up to the top of the jackspaper rack in the stockroom downstairs and wall himself in order to get some shuteye until 11.

His buddies would cover for him by telling floor management that he was down filling his trolley and telling stockroom management that he was above stocking his shelves.

It was pre-Tiger Ireland when booze was king and work ethic was only something you saw on imported television programmes.

This is the right answer. Now if the lobby wants to penetrate the Irish market they need to develop a kit that works with the sh*te water pressure in upstairs bathrooms and we have a winner.
