    Hello All,

Myy 2006, 1.3 Suzuki Swift failed yesterday on emissions ( major) and maybe you know how badly and what might be wrong?
0.2% is maximum and result on my car are CO 0.30% vol.

This is only one thing which did not pass...

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Diptane and don't sit in the car with the engine running outside the NCT waiting for the test.

Proper revs, do a tanks worth with the diptane and you should be grand. Carbon buildup

I had an emissions fail on my car and they had a new cat in for 200eu, incl labour. Had the car back a few hours later.

    Based in Crumlin.

That's cheap for a cat, fair play.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

It was a spurious one. They cut out the old one and welded in the new one onto the existing pipework. Passed nct handsomely thankfully.

Give me the rest of the values and I'll give you a better idea.
Carbon monoxide is a result of incomplete combustion, generally taken care of my your catalytic converter but often times is just a sign of worn spar plugs or a dirty air filter which are much cheaper than a new cat.
