For anyone following / completing the Calendar Bingo challenge on the numerous Apps, this Saturday is a very important run!

Is that because it's the first ever parkrun on feb 29th?

And you've to wait 28 years for the next pr to fall on that date.

You might have all other 365 dates ticked off... but you'd have a long wait to complete it

I can concur with this. I'm not confident about speaking out infront of crowds or groups of people. parkrun has helped with this. It is a great feeling to look back on a Sat afternoon when the results are processed and run report posted and say I organised that event. I still get a bit nervous when I'm RD incase I mess up or something goes wrong, as well as making sure I can convey everything in my run briefing. What also helps being a run director is getting to know the regulars and then it doesn't feel so scarey cos you're amoungst friends.

So true and it feels like a real achievement and like you've done something with the weekend. You get such positive vibes and feedback from the parkrun crew as well. Never in a million years did I think I'd do it so it's a great feeling. Well done for putting yourself forward. Brilliant.

For those concerned about doing RD due to not being comfortable speaking in public, the RD does not have to do the pre run brief. If the RD is not comfortable doing the speech, someone else can give it.

For Cork city & surrounds, Mallow Town is cancelled, Ballincollig & Castle Demense will decide in the morning & Glen River is going ahead (baring biblical rain!).

    Update Ballincollig just cancelled.

This is not à good time of the year for it. The park is prone to flooding so any even slightly adverse weather conditions shut it down. Leave it till the weather gets better and they will have a good run

It's been cancelled since December 7th I think. I've done it twice but I'm pretty sure both times were during the summer months.

We're hardcore in the North East as Dundalk and Oldbridge pretty much never cancel so head on up here tomorrow.

Completed my 100th parkrun today at a very soggy Bushy Park, here's the next 100! It has been a extraordinary positive influence on my weekends for the last 3 years

I ran Mungret parkrun (Limerick) this morning for the first time. Met loads of familiar faces. Lovely atmosphere, despite a flurry of snow during the first lap! I might have to start going there more often, especially if the flooding continues at UL.

Sun was shining in Glen River although there was a few short springlings of snow as well. The park is nicely in a hollow so well protected from wind. 2nd highest turnout of 184 with some tourists from Tralee & a great bunch of Sanctuary Runners.

Very muddy over in Scotland only 3 people managed under 22 minutes! I was expecting a bigger than normal turnout with the novelty of the 29th but there was a drop off in numbers for some reason. Next nearest run saw an increase of a 1/3 think our one is maybe getting a rep for being a bit too tough and muddy.

    98th parkrun for me today.

    Can’t do next week :(

99th will be the 14th and all going well my 100th will be in Cairns Australia on the 21st.

They start proper early over there.

Think it’s shortly after the sun comes up in every country.
    9am in the U.K.
9 be too early in Ireland as still dark in Connaught at 9 am in the winter.

I did Waterford Nature parkrun this morning and a nice route which appears to be really hilly but actual isn't looking on my garmin. I just got the feeling that I was always going up and down. I would expect that their numbers will gradual go up as the year goes on as they're a mile from the city centre so very handy to get to.
