Hi all. In my wisdom I've told the 3 kids I'm building them bed forts, 3 single beds each.

For each bed I've bought a wooden high sleeper and I intend to enclose the underneath. The beds measure the usual 2000 x 1000 mm and the height is around 1500 mm. So 9m^2 each, total 27m^2 + a reasonable waste amount

I had kinda figured I would use t&g panelling and cut in windows doors around it - I don't have plan here!

Is there anywhere I can source this online for delivery, preferably cut to the 1.5m height? What should I expect to pay per m^2? Any other suggestions?

Goodwins sell red deal T&G, about 10 Euro per m2: https://www.goodwins.ie/products/TG-V-Sheeting-92mm-x-8-mm-2.4Mtr-Pack-of-10-Red-Deal.html?filter_set[]=20,2120

It won't come cut to length but you'll get a single 1.5m length and a half out of each 2.4m length. Easy to cut with a sharp handsaw.

You hardly need to panel all 4 sides of each bed surely unless the beds are stand alone in the middle of a massive room. Are one or two sides of each beds not set against a wall or corner?
If placed in a corner the headboard and one length is effectively already paneled with the wall so you'd only need to do the base and outside length so 4.5m2. Might save you on materials.

This was all I really came across online so I had no basis for comparison on the price. I could get away without much waste getting the length and a half out of those so it might not be too bad. Thanks

That's a fair point alright. They're all in corners so I might just do the hidden sides in a sheet of MDF leaving a gap at the bottom and t&g the rest

    Try Mannions http://www.mannions.ie/

I bought some a while ago and it was around the same price as Goodwins. The difference is in the delivery cost with Goodwins charging around €50 and Mannion's as low as €10, depending on where you live.

You can ring Mannions and order C.O.D which is also very handy!
