had a small leak that dripped onto the belt, didn't notice it, was taking it for servicing that day coincidentally

Another one for the shifty list. Copy and paste job.

Looks a nice buy. Be careful with this one though, on the surface looks ideal but seller refused to give address to meet only wanted to meet at church car park.

Shifty on the phone. Too good to be true.

photos are taken in UL too - also typos in the ad. might not have a house to show it outside

Curious to hear peoples opinions on this.

Going to view a sub 2k car from a dealer later. Is it a complete waste of time to pay for a mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection when we are talking about bangernomics priced cars?

What's cut and paste about the text? Seems to be pretty specific to the car.

I've seen a few cars using photos from plassey house, It wouldnt necessarily ring any alarm bells for me. Meeting in an open public space is fine to view it, but if you buy you can agree to meet at the place where the car is registered to. Although I suspect this is someone punting on ex dealer stock on the quiet.

    “Mint condition inside and out”
    Stained front pax seat visible.
    I smell an ex taxi

Agree some is specific, The last 7 or 8 lines are standard jargon though.

I understand meeting in a Public place to view and then if happy going to house to complete paperwork. This was not the case. He couldn’t get off the phone fast enough when I said about going to the house where the car is registered. Hence my comment “shifty on the phone”

    alarm bells.

Any time a seller doesn't want to meet at their house I always say the local Garda station, seems to sort the wheat from the chaff !

Nice looking 1.8t A4 with NCT til November, €1995

It was a 1 owner car until a few days ago. Obviously being sold by a trader now.

Beautiful car, it started on Donedeal last year at about €4k

Bit of history to it that is not divulged in the ad...but a super bangernomics(ish) buy IMO

That is nice. Any ideas or thoughts on the seller?
He’s selling an xc90 that I have an eye on.

That's for sale a veeeeeeeery long time with the same dealer, and the same pics. I only know as I was going to view it in 2018 before I bought the Lexus.

Do you have your heart set on buying from a dealer? Quick scout on done deal shows a number of xc90's from private sellers I'd go for before looking at the one from that seller.

No, not set on a dealer at all, I’d hardly call that guy a dealer. No premises etc.
Plenty of junk xc90s out there privately as well.
I’m looking 07-10 which I think have a bit more power and a better gearbox.
Anyway, for a different thread me thinks.

Student? Living in a flat? Is that what you are getting at?

The jag x Estate is so much nicer as an estate over the saloon,on the outside. It's ugly as hell inside IMHO. Not a patch on the interior of 07 audi a4 estate, which has aged well.

Them seats look as cheap. I don't know much about Jags but was that some sort of basic model, just guessing with those seats.

edit: Forget that was some sort of Ford pictures in the mix for some reason. And never bothered to look at the other pics before posting.

If anyone is actually interested in that X type feel free to drop me a pm about it. I’m not going to divulge publicly here anything about the car but I would say to anyone thinking about it, pay 30 quid for a history check

A fine car nonetheless and seller is fine too IME

It has numbers on the gearstick and so for that reason, I’m out!

Rough and ready Impreza wagon with NCT til July and a bit of tax, €500

Same owner for the last 14 years. Has a tow bar and all the convenience of an estate, a handy little number for the money
