14 year old 2.0 petrol sold as seen.

    No.

That Dealer will most certainlty struggle to sell that on.
I'd bet he'll end up nearly having to give that away.

14 year old 2.0 petrol sold as seen.

    No.

I’ve a 2005 2 litre petrol 4wd auto Rav 4 sol model Rav 4 from new. It’s needed pads , discs once on the front , oil and filters and spark plugs. I do all of this myself. That’s it. In 15 years. Zilch has gone wrong. Everything works as the day toyota made it. Only once failed a NCT, tracking. It’s only time in a garage.

I’ll keep it to the day it expires. A really smashing motor , leather , air con, cruise control. Lovely driving position. Relaxed , Marty in the morning motoring. I really love it.

Ok , so tax is more and mpg less than many cars. But I’ve no dpf, dual mass flywheel , swirlflaps, turbo , snapped timing belt or dodgy chain to go wrong. A properly built car. What it costs in a few mpg less it more than makes up for in reduced garage bills.

Perhaps this Suzuki is no different. It’s a hell of a lot less miles than my Rav. It’s japanese and I firmly believe the Japanese cars built in Japan are a better bet than the European built ones. Not sure where this one was built (if Europe perhaps Budapest - I saw barges full of swifts on the Danube years ago)

I like Vitaras (I’ve had 3) but If you’ve €2k to spend, there’s a whole lot more interesting, better made, better quality stuff out there.
If you do go looking at a petrol Vitara, make sure everything is fine with front differential and front axle is driving when 4wd is selected.

This ad smacks of 'his missus is making him sell it,but he doesn't really want to '.:D
To me it just seems he is most likely a lazy seller more than anything. Only two photos granted and he possibly does keep it clean, or cleaner than most selling their car on DoneDeal. However, if he was an enthusiast he would most likely have corrected them badly hazed headlights.

Only 2 months test on it. No doubt the seller will tell you when you call him that it'll fly through.....NO, the only person who may tell me that is the NCT tester on the day.

Plenty of Petrol 3s for sale ranging from €700-€1500. Shop around.

That is lovely. You wont get many more as good as that as time goes on.

Did they still share a lot of parts with the Civic at that time? Bar the engine.

Hi - Apologies if this is not the appropriate place (please remove if not). My car has died (engine gone), its a Subaru Legacy 2005. I am not sure what to do with it, have put it on DD for now.
    Thanks

Rules are in the first post, dont think that ad qualifies.

    Bangernomcs Rules:
    Under €2000
    Valid NCT
    Something you'd actually drive yourself
    VRT paid

Ah, sorry to hear that. You could try posting it in the fixeruoper thread, its ideal for cars that need repair but are otherwise sound.

Although age and mileage might be against it being economical to fix.

Another one for the shifty list. Copy and paste job.

Looks a nice buy. Be careful with this one though, on the surface looks ideal but seller refused to give address to meet only wanted to meet at church car park.

Shifty on the phone. Too good to be true.

photos are taken in UL too - also typos in the ad. might not have a house to show it outside

Curious to hear peoples opinions on this.

Going to view a sub 2k car from a dealer later. Is it a complete waste of time to pay for a mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection when we are talking about bangernomics priced cars?

What's cut and paste about the text? Seems to be pretty specific to the car.

I've seen a few cars using photos from plassey house, It wouldnt necessarily ring any alarm bells for me. Meeting in an open public space is fine to view it, but if you buy you can agree to meet at the place where the car is registered to. Although I suspect this is someone punting on ex dealer stock on the quiet.

    I smell an ex taxi

Agree some is specific, The last 7 or 8 lines are standard jargon though.

I understand meeting in a Public place to view and then if happy going to house to complete paperwork. This was not the case. He couldn’t get off the phone fast enough when I said about going to the house where the car is registered. Hence my comment “shifty on the phone”

    alarm bells.

Any time a seller doesn't want to meet at their house I always say the local Garda station, seems to sort the wheat from the chaff !

Beautiful car, it started on Donedeal last year at about €4k

Bit of history to it that is not divulged in the ad...but a super bangernomics(ish) buy IMO
