Swords seems to be a 4 Mile race this year - 24th May. Is this a first?

Seems to be a first yeah. Normally its 10k - 10 mile - Half in July - August - September

I’d say it was a no brainier to hold another event with the popularity of the marathon itself.

Good to see this, after Swords was dropped last year. Don’t forget there used to be a 5-mile event in the series so this brings it closer to the ‘normal’ arrangement. 4-mile is good to see too as there are fewer of them around since Dunboyne went to 10k.

Zero Interest in doing a 4 miler. I’m not a fast runner, The distance is easy and not a challenge i don’t see any point in going out if my way to run one. I really hope you can get the other three as part of the series

Normally it's enter two races get 5% off, enter 3 get 10% off etc. That's the way they do the spar race series.

The distance isn't easy if you try to run it a little faster.

To be honest its on in May, so you should be looking at speedwork for 5k/5 mile races then, it will stand to you in the marathon.

Doesn't matter if your fast or not, it will help your marathon feel easier.

I’ve done 4 marathons already and generally have reduced by 15 minutes each time. My main problem is I’m 100 kg and cycle 60 kmeach day so never get a chance to train for a full marathon

Many people do similar and still manage to train.

Fair pay to them, they must have a more understanding wife and kids!!!
2.5 hours cycling a day and 1 hour swimming a day is about as much as I can get away with.

You do that 7 days a week or just on days that end in y

I’ve 2 under 5 and manage to train 6 days a week and work 5. Commute 80 minutes each way.

If you want to you find a way.

5 days a week. I’ll fit in a run on a Saturday or Sunday. How do you commute? And how many days you you train for the marathon.
How many hours running, cycling or swimming would you do a week ?

This is where you got to figure out your running budget. It can be tough with a family and even harder when they need to be brought to sport and want you to either train or watch them.

Can you run at lunch time?
Could you run to work one day and home another day.

Use swimming for recovery days, ie twice a week or three times.

Individual events are up on eventmaster, can't find the bundle yet. Unless you add all 4 and then get a discount?

Registration done, €75 for the 4.
Url seems broken so crop it to remove a forward slash and word "preview" and it will work.

They emailed to say those two races were deferred till later in the year. Option of participating this year or deferring till next year.
