Anyone here ever lived in Belgium? Just curious as to what it's like there. Is it expensive, pub scene, are the people friendly etc?

I found the Flemish people very friendly and they all speak English.
The French Belgium's are a different kettle of fish though and are not so friendly. And unlike the people in Flanders's, the French Belgium's don't tend to speak English.

You can pay anything from €2.20 to €4.00 for a beer on draught in Flanders which normally only comes in 25cl glasses.
Bottled beers can cost anything from €2.50 to €20.00 but the average is about €3.50.
