    Council Tax in say UK and France, Spain and so on covers police, rubbish collection, local amenities, cleaning the place and so on.. Everyone benefits from that not just owners of property, well the bank usually owns the property for about 30 years, but whatever.

    USC is general taxation I agree. But it is necessary to ensure those who heretofore could arrange their taxes to pay little, now have no escape. I like that. And hopefully if it is reduced for those on lower pay, the rest of us will benefit also on a sliding scale.

    Awh so despite multiple splits in SF since the 70's which the IRA couldn't prevent they'll somehow prevent someone voting against a FF led collation because you say so. And this says nothing of FF TDs deciding to go rouge.
