Whatever the rights and wrongs of how much they earn ... that is how much they earn. You won’t attract them here with high tax and levies so we won’t fill the positions

How many people realise that even under salaries that the public considers excessive, that it simple is IMPOSSIBLE to fill all the consultant vacancies in the country ?

In the greater scheme of things, having them, does more harm than good. This is why NO ONE can improve the system.

It's a matter of management and accountability with less waste. Not super health centres.

He'll lose any points when people remember what a disaster he was in that ministry. All bluff from him

As opposed to Leo who achieved almost nothing in the two ministries he's held in the last 9 years.

He always had lots to say about everyone else's brief though.

Yea, Tax people who provide employment, run businesses, who work as CEO's, managing directors and steer companies into providing more jobs... Make 'em pay!

Appalling that SF would want to end the property tax. Taxing wealth is a left wing principle. Joke.

Mary Lou grew up just off Orwell road- one of the most expensive pieces of real estate in Ireland.

So saying she's speaking for "people from crumlin? " Ha- feic off with ya!!

Ireland must be the only country in the world where left leaning politicians object to a property tax.

And paying for water supply and waste removal based on usage.

Ever heard of the magic hour when you are having a stroke, heart attack, etc..???

Now, try getting to one of your half dozen hospitals in that time if you live outside of a major city....

The regional hospitals don't have the kit, staff and expertise to save you if you rock up there out of hours (or in hours, in some cases).

Properly fund and staff the air ambulance services instead.

Just to point out the people of Nenagh are at the mercy of the University Hospital Limerick in terms of A&E, a hospital consistently one of the three most over crowded in Ireland. I'd argue that having limited hospital services in Nenagh is hugely harmful to their health but not for the reasons you suggest.

It is for the value for money it gives - sucking money away from Limerick where it would give better efficiency.

LV's concern is for the middle income workers? Jeez he could have fooled me with his tenure thus far. Spoofer.

My thoughts exactly. Pure lies. Those of us who get up early every morning to go to work will not be fooled again. Once bitten....

A hospital, any old hospital, will not save you. The magic hour means getting to competant medical professionals and facilities. You simply cannot have these all over the country. No country does!

I'm sure they constantly reduce the rate in Dublin City, a council which they control, despite the concentration of homeless and rough sleepers being within their region.

57% income tax on earners over 100k will drive further immigration.

SF are absolutely clueless and the demographic they are targeting is so evident. Uneducated, low earners who know no different.

    It’s like Brexit.

That's exactly what he is. His big give back was about a fiver a week. Insurance costs, childcare and other essential bills that people pay more than ate that up.

But trust him.. This time he means it.. Honest!
