A lot of people dont want to believe it. Close 15 hospitals. Divert resources to the half dozen that are worthwhile. Health service improved. But, the people of Ballinasloe, Nenagh, Roscommon, etc wont hear of it, even though it is harmful to their health to keep them open. It is the single reason why no progress has been made in decades of this Angola.

Utter bol*ocks from the resident aristocrat. Regional hospitals have saved countless lives.

In that answer yeah but if he was that good on health as minister(along with other health minister) it wouldn’t be like it is now.

    True

Just on the debate tonight and overall Health is a big election issue and MM scored more points in that section than the other 2

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Mary Lou, we all know the ****ing problems in the country, the dogs on the street know....quit repeating them.

Instead Mary Lou can you not give us one single ****ing thought through solution to any one of them, backed up with how you propose to finance same.

Sick of ****ing listening to her.
Sick of the three of them.
    God help our country.

MM is literally out here telling you you'll be broke trying to see a doctor, no hope, no nothing.

Entirely right. A middle ground between free and the current €50 is what is needed.

You should get 1 free GP visit a year for every €10k in tax you pay.

Consultants making far too much on their private clinics, v that's the problem.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of how much they earn ... that is how much they earn. You won’t attract them here with high tax and levies so we won’t fill the positions

So free GPs for everyone from Sinn Fein?

You can't get a doctor to take you on in Dublin as things stand! And how are they going to pay for it?

That sounds great unless you are over 65 and living in rural Ireland with the nearest hospital an hour drive away - and you don’t drive!

There is a dreadful amount of waste in the health service like crutches that can’t be reused etc. Let’s have accountability for providing a service - go to any outpatient appointment and you can be sitting there for hours, and nobody gives a ****e. No. Accountability for a ****ty service.

Leo being a bit flustered makes him seem a bit more human. When he gets going he is pointed in his responses. MM is too interested in elbowing FG with his points, to take down Leo rather than putting out his stall. MLM is trying to talk about the problems rather than on solutions. I'd like her to retort to the responses put to her.

Just to point out the people of Nenagh are at the mercy of the University Hospital Limerick in terms of A&E, a hospital consistently one of the three most over crowded in Ireland. I'd argue that having limited hospital services in Nenagh is hugely harmful to their health but not for the reasons you suggest.

In the greater scheme of things, having them, does more harm than good. This is why NO ONE can improve the system.

Ever heard of the magic hour when you are having a stroke, heart attack, etc..???

Now, try getting to one of your half dozen hospitals in that time if you live outside of a major city....

He'll lose any points when people remember what a disaster he was in that ministry. All bluff from him

He did score points but it’s counter balanced by him being a health minister.
