    Party time :)

These muppets effect a lot of people, narcissistic men and women charming unwitting men and women who have good intentions and they're very charming these poly fillers of existence.

Many a good man and woman ended up marrying or dating a narcissist and all was a ok until one day they pull the rug from underneath you it could be a few years the hide behind the mask.
This is when they start trauma bonding with you, one minute you're their soul mate the next you're the demon from hell.

Like the people on their social media page, they'll block people or delete them if they're not getting their narcissistic supply.

Like you said they prostitute their mental deficits on people.

Narcissism is not the same as getting your ego stroked by a few likes on Instagram.

I’d argue that it is the same thing, narcissism thrives on the ego being stroked and that’s exactly what likes do - it validates their own delusion that they are something special.

Narcissistic personality disorder is a serious disturbance of self. They do love the validation that ego stroking brings but there is so much more to the condition. They lack empathy, are full of grandiosity, have difficulty in maintaining healthy relationships, are fully convinced that they are superior to all others and will inflate and exaggerate their achievements.

There is a darkness to how they relate to others. Actually they don't relate at all, not in any meaningful way. They don't see you or I as individuals in our own right. We exist to serve their needs. They will react with anger, even maybe violence when called out on any of their shenanigans or manipulations. In order for them to feel superior they reduce you to less than. Forever chipping away at your self worth.

Underneath these characteristics lies the narcissistic wound. They have no real sense of self. They are full of insecurity, shame and no real sense of self. On the surface they appear extremely confident but they crave acceptance and recognition. They have an extremely fragile core and cannot tolerate criticism or vulnerability.

All of this lies on a spectrum and there are also different types of narcissism. I'm not going down the rabbit hole any further with this. I just wanted to point out how being enthralled with social media and posting infinite selfies doesn't necessarily mean one is a narcissist.

I hear what you're saying and you made a lot of valid points.

Sorry for the joke about the daffodils as im a gardener and narcissi is the Latin for daffodil.
Named after Greek guy narcissisus who was in love with himself.

Yes not all selfie poppers are narcissistic but id say a lot of them are borderline narcissistic.

That's a great description of narcissism you posted.

I think the absolute worst thing anyone can do is to give them your time. Stay clear of the whole clusterfook and guaranteed it will implode with all the "influencers" turning on each other.

There definitely does appear to be traits of narcissism among some of them going solely on their posts or snaps or whatever.

I remember reading that myth years ago and thinking how sad it was for Echo to have her love rejected but also for Narcissus who fell in love with his own reflection.
Course the tragedy or Narcissism is that the person loathes themselves. Its not love at all.

Allot of these youtubers and influencers started during the recession when young people couldnt get jobs. Older generations got their first jobs working in shops and factories, those days are gone for young people, unless theyre related to a manager or their parents call in somewhere to get them a job, employers dont give them a chance. The most menial jobs are expecting 2+ years experience. Theres huge unemployment in under 25's, it was worse during the recession when these influencers started out. They saw opportunity in earning online, basically started their own brand from scratch in their bedroom and are now making a living from it.

What I think is ridiculous is the wannabe social media influencers, especially when theyre past a certain age and the people who are purposely trying to come across as better than everyone else.

Theres a woman on my social media that I used to know from school thats constantly posting photos of herself in weird posing positions, selfies and herself with her designer bags and gaudy looking house. Sometimes my friend will post photos of her skincare products, some friends post photos of themselves posing in the gym - these type of posts make me cringe.

I find that the few people I know who follow these types of social Media influencers or whatever this crew are, while they are looking at these people and their instatails or whatever, these people I know that are watching them after a few minutes go "aaaaarrrggghhh what am I following this fools arse for???" then they shut it off.

But then the next week they are back watching the same vapid noise again from the same person they called a fools arse last week.
    It's bizarre.

I agree with the other posters that your description of narcissism was very good. The description of the narcissistic wound and lack of
proper sense of identity was sad and spot on.

It is very sad. There is no consensus among the medical community around the causes of narcissism but I am interested in the theory that its caused by traumatic early experiences. Consistent emotional abuse and feeling like they are not loved. That model is missing for them.
That's not an excuse but it can help understand them some what.

They call themselves influencers so that companies give them free stuff or pay them to influence consumers. In reality I suspect many of them make very little or are reduced to peddling soft-porn shots of themselves for monetised clicks.

It's a succesor to mass media advertising. Hardly any worse overall than the century or more of body shaming, gratuitous sexism (towards both genders FTW), cigarette smoking inducements and vapid materialism that advertising gave us.

This is exactly it. These influencer folk probably get nothing but a pittance for what they do, but once they get a little bit, that probably pushes them onto pushing out more instaadverts in the hope they can get a bit more than the pittance they currently receive. Just like gamblers, when gamblers win a bit they think they can win again, but rarely ever do. These influencer's become nothing but a enslaved cog in the advertisement game. Stressing themselves out. Chasing the pittance a bit of a pittance more. But the people who follow them won't see none of that. But that is the reality that never gets recorded on the phone.

Like a gambler once said, the next one is a winner.

There's a lot of attractive people out there who are wasting their lives following false promises and hopes and they're being encouraged by their peers to be scapegoats for the amusement of others.

Sadly a lot of them have addiction problems too and im told the likes of AA and Na that's Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous are full of narcissistic people.
And the most dangerous types of narcissism are the spiritual narcissists.

They go on this crusade, a bit like Russell Brand and will find any excuse for their egotistical excuses for their past and present.

They're now addicted to pseudo science or this whole universal at oneness with the all encompassing universal vibrational frequently.

You'll hear them say things, such as I handed my will and my life over to my higher power, God or universe this morning.
So anything I do today is the right course of action because God willed it.

I chelated on the wife, but its ok I didn't drink.
I knocked someone down, its ok I didn't take a drug.

You'll hear narcissistic men say, oh she won't let me see the kids for no reason whatsoever.
But forget to tell the real truth.

The dick head didn't bother turn up to see kids for the last few weeks but it's ok he didn't drink.

Narcissists need to take a long hard look in the mirror.

There's this Venezuelan guy I follow on IG who always posts selfies of himself shirtless or showing off his legs. I'm pretty sure he takes a long hard look in the mirror every day and jerks off to himself :D

    Had to laugh at this

"Disrespectful" influencers using NYC Irish Hunger Memorial for photo shoots

For example, in one Instagram post, a model in lingerie stands between these panels. The caption for the post reads "Thinking about a shack burger, bacon cheese fries and a cookies’n’cream shake."

Doesn't surprise me one bit C. Didn't the Auschwitz camp museum have to inform morons that taking jokey selfies wasn't exactly on? There are a lot of quarter wits out there.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.
