Rumours from Germany are that Maingau will suck up the price increase for a period of time. I suspect they'll change their mind if a lot of people register and start using them.

Allego, Fastned, Comfortcharge, EnBW they all charge between 60 and 90 cents / kWh, some of them charge per minute or a combination of both, they are all partnered with Maingau as well and has been that way for some years.

Ionity is fairly sparse compared to the above, I think also Maingau would drop Ionity rather than increase the price for all chargers as it doesn't fit their Single charging product :)

But it depends on the contract Maingau has with Ionity I guess, no way Maingau would have let Ionity set whatever price they feel like while Maingau charges a set rate.

Yes of course it is, maingau is the same price for all partner networks, Ionity is just a small one out of many.

There's no way Maingau will introduce a special price for Ionity otherwise they would have done it already for the other providers.

According to my Ionity app I'm still charging since the 23rd November, 106550 minutes!!

(I rang them about it at the time and they said it was a glitch in the app.)

The important bill is the invoice you recieve on the 28th, they do a month end reconciliation and only bill you for valid sessions.

Yes I've had some crazy sessions in the app where the sessions started but the charger was faulty. :) or the session wouldn't end correctly.

However they have a process in the background to reconciliate the actual amount of kWh you drew, how long it takes to update depends on the supplier you used.

In fairness their customer support is very good, unusual for a German power company :pac:

Any BMW owners figured out how we can charge at Ionity officially for the lower cost? Charge Now links for Ireland are dead.

FYI that chargepoint crowd works, used Ionity last night in Sevenum and it only cost 8 euros still, although they only bill minimum 10 euros so now I have 2 euros credit

Worth it if you are pulling more than 25 kWh

Yes that's right looks like 6 spaces, well, there's cables coming out of the ground in 6 places.

Are these circle K chargers or ESB ?

Be a dead shame if they're all 50 Kw and I wonder if they'll be all DC or a mix of AC/DC ?

I don’t hear many complaining about ESBs rates anymore, Mad_Lad ;)

    Congrats on the m3.

Yes some Ionity sites have been on and off free vend since the payment change.
    Except citynorth.

I'm planning to head to Gorey cars and coffee next week so will see if it's still free!

Charging at Ionity Cashel using the EinfachStromLaden app from Maingau for €0.40 per kWh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,138 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

Is that one not on free vend anymore?

FYI Ionity is still 7.54 euro / session on Chargepoint

Works fine via the App, if you have a larger battery I would milk that while you can ;)

Good to know, but if you have a smaller battery or just don't want to hang around the EinfachStromLaden app is very handy. There is a use case for both of them.

Anyone else have trouble with the EinfachStromLaden app accepting their IBAN? It won't take mine via the app or website. Copy pasting from online banking so I know it's correct.

Heard that from a few people, my Irish AIB IBAN worked perfectly first time so cannot complain.

A lot of the time if you copy and paste an IBAN it doesn’t work, try free typing it.

Is that an oversight that's likely to be changed as soon as they realise!?
