Not city centre but the only other 2 shops I know of that sometimes sell older retired sets are:

    - Nimble Fingers, Stillorgan Dublin

    - Duffys, Louth

For current sets you generally won't get cheaper than Smyths, especially when they have sales.

Toymaster in the Omni Centre sometimes has one or two old sets.

I've always found them to be a good chunk more expensive than Smyths. With people able to easily price things online, I find it odd that they would be often 10-15% more expensive than everyone else.

I can see why Argos do it, people go to Argos for loads of other stuff already so they can snag buyers that way and they occasionally have pretty good sales. Toymasters brand loyalty won't last another generation so they'll need to get competitive.
