    Hi,

My new frenchie pup passes a lot of smelly gas.

Any Frenchie owners recommend a good food for this particular breed please?

If he's inhaling his food (what pup isn't lol) you could try a slow feeder bowl to try and cut the gas down.

Had the same problem with our lad; DISGUSTING farts which would clear the room, and if he was in the car...OMG

Anyway, he was farting like a lunatic with Burns so we switched to the Royal Canin (Mini) - MUCH MUCH improved!

Anyway, congrats on the new pup. The are such a fun breed - enjoy!

I don't know anything about bulldogs in particular, but IME kibble with salmon in it, and even just salmon oil, can make dogs fart horrendously. It's meant to be really good for a shiny coat, but I had to stop giving it.

I will try anything at this stage. 😊

Yep she’s a great addition to the family.

We use grain free Salmon food for ours. Has cut it down a good bit but it's just one of them things with the breed, try the feeders that slow them down or even raise the food bowls a bit. Can all help but won't rid!

farting is one of the joys of dog ownership especially when you are in company and the people are boring you to death a good old fart can disperse in seconds he he he .

You might be able to cut it down with slow feeding bowls and grain-free food, but brachycephalic dogs (those with flattened faces like Frenchies and pugs) are more inclined to farting in general. Their pinched nostrils mean that they breathe through their mouths more than dogs with snouts; this means that they swallow air much more when eating or drinking, and what goes in has to come out.
