Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nice handy one to start. Italian jerseys look very French.

Italy to shock... by not contesting the scrum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,647 ✭✭✭beggars_bush

Surely there was 2/3 infringements there by Wales?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,994 ✭✭✭c.p.w.g.w

Italy wrongfully pinged for hands on in the ruck, and Wales not pinged for hand in the ruck

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,767 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

Sweet jesus that was awful. Completely missed the ball. Talk about handing momentum to the opposition.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,647 ✭✭✭beggars_bush

3 instances of Wales going over the top and tackling players in the ruck or after the tackle

Good to see the yearly tradition of refs giving Italy nothing continues

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Italians getting no luck from the officials already.
Wainwright took Canna past the ruck after coming in at the side, literally a foot in front of the AR who looked away.
I know they turn a blind eye but that was two.

The standard of reffing in rugby is getting embarrassing...it's a sport that is beginning to struggle for credibility

Josh Adam's 12th try for Wales is getting a look from the TMO.

    EDIT: Try awarded.

    Yeah nah

Yeah it's a sport with 5 professional leagues and reffing/rules issue...also only 10 international sides and rest are way behind and miles behind...

It's a great sport that I massively enjoy. You can have your opinion of course, but it is a bad opinion imo.

    ??

I can count 11 professional leagues off the top of my head

I enjoy it too, but it's a sport with a very small pool of professionals...and rules that change week to week it seems because they are so ambiguous...also beard no hands with the previous clear out

Tasty, but why wasn't the Italian 14 pushing out? There were two inside covering Biggar.
    Really poor defence.

The way Biggar was facing 'seemed' to indicate the ball wasn't going any farther. As intended. Still poor defence, but well done by Biggar to make it look as though he wasn't going to pass it.

That was good play from Biggar, I think. But in general Italy are just a poor side. Shown some nice touches in attack, but their defence is diabolical. Been a few times when one long pass from Wales has led to overlaps being created against the defence. That's shouldn't happen at test level.

As much as Italy might get ridden by refs, Italy would do your ****ing head in at times.

Wow no wonder the sport is struggling to grow if that's the attitude...with football the fans take criticism of the sport on board

Their u20's beat Wales last night. The raw talent is there, I think. Their problem is getting that to translate to senior level. Benneton are doing well these days, but that hasn't given the national side a boost either.

    Don't feed the troll lads.

Directed at me I assume...never thought rugby fans were so insular...when I played it wasn't like that from memory

Rugby has laws not rules and those laws by nature are open to interpretation

Sarto has been appalling defensively. Constantly too narrow leaving oceans of space on his outside. At one stage he was basically shoulder to shoulder with Morisi 15m in from the touchline. Kids wouldnt be that bad.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,129 ✭✭✭Granny15

It’s a shame to see Italy perform like this. If they 2/3 more Bennetons they could be a competitive rugby nation

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

What are italy doing with Parisse? Some sort of ceremonial role? Load of nonsense and diminishes the role of captain that takes to the field.

Oh Jaysus. One of the Italian players had his shorts pulled down there on the pitch a while back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,189 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Italy are quite good at those offloads out of the tackle. Shame they haven't the skill level to then capitalise. Keep knocking on from the subsequent ruck.
