How to fix a warped internal door?

I had some shaker-style doors installed about 2 years ago, all over the house. 9 in total.


The shop I bought them in recommended a carpenter. Carpenter (lovely chap, by the way) had the job of fitting all the doors, and it included removing and fitting new frames/architrave/skirting etc. (pretty much, I pulled out everything that was there originally).

He did a generally good job, and he seemed experienced enough. However, I've noticed that every door has the same issue, that being that the door, when closed, is noticeably 'falling away' from the door stop (or door jamb or whatever it may be called) at the top of the frame. This issue is only really noticeable on the side with no hinges, and the bottom halves of the doors all seem fine. Only affects the top halves on the handled side.

It's about 5mm-8mm most of the time, so it's not a massive amount, but it is enough for light leak and, to be honest, to see it without having to look for it.


I'm wondering is there anything I can do about it? or anything he (the carpenter) can do about it? Or is it just a sad fact of life that I have to learn to live with?

The doors were fitted about 2 months apart from each other, and arrived in two separate deliveries (4 doors for downstairs and 5 for upstairs at a later date), so they weren't stored the same way or stored in an awkward way that would lead them to have bent or bowed.


Any ideas? I'm a bit stumped and Google searches aren't much help.
