    Hello,

I am a recent returning emmigrant hoping to make another go of my home country.I left Ireland in 2017.After graduating college at the time, I tried very hard to secure work. After 1.5 years I was able to secure a temporary contract for 3 months.I tried to apply for state benefits at the time but being under 26 and living with my parents it was means tested. My parents have assets so my application was refused.I am wondering what my options are for state benefits while I get back on my feet in Ireland and (hopefully) securing a job? Will my application be means tested again now that I am living with my parents again or am I considered a 'adult' now that I am 27? I have no assets to my name either.

You’ll be means tested but no longer taking into consideration your parents. You’ll have to fulfill the Habitual Residence Condition too as you’ve been out of the country.
We’re nearly at full employment at the moment so you won’t have much problem finding a job.
