    Hi guys

Received my final cert from my GP which certifies me up until 26th January.

What is the process now. Do I need to go to my social welfare office now to go on Jobseekers?

I was on Jobseekers up until August of last year when I got switched to IB as I spent some time in hospital but I am now ready to commence job hunting and want to know where I stand as regards Jobseekers.

Should I have stayed on IB until I found a new job?

    Thanks

You can only stay on IB if your GP agrees that you are unfit for work. It’s just a question of going to your SW office and reapplying for JSB. The relevant tax year for PRSI for a claim in 2020 is now 2018. If you have sufficient PRSI from that year then you will get Benefit again.

    Hi.

If someone began working in a full time job from May 2018 onwards, would they have enough prsi cons to get JB for a few months?

Would have been working part time in the few months before May.

If you only have 2 years of PRSI paid then I’m afraid you don’t have enough paid in yet to get JSB.
