Cost of laying laminate/tiling

Hi I got a quote of 18 per square yard for laying a good quality laminate flooring and 25 per square yard for tiling. Is that expensive? No idea of pricing and don't want to be ripped off! I got a quote of 18 per square yard for laying a good quality laminate flooring and 25 per square yard for tiling. Is that expensive? No idea of pricing and don't want to be ripped off! They are a local company so will complete the job within a short timeframe so will not have to wait months for a separate labourer.

Any advice greatly appreciated
