Also, without multiculturalism Ireland would not be Ireland. This country was not made as a finished article, it developed through waves of immigration.

Maybe I have a different experience of “foreigners” than most.

Last time I was in A&E in the middle of the night it was staffed mostly by Indians and Filipinas. My brother’s cancer was cured by a Pakistani doctor.

The guys who work in my local Spar are all Indian and they’re so friendly and all speak perfect English.

Last year I worked in an Innovation Centre at one of the world’s biggest tech companies and my extremely talented colleagues included Brazilian, Dutch and Australians.

Who would we get rid of first?
