The connections at the rear of that plate will separate the cores in a way that virgin media doesn't usually do anywhere,

In the interest of retaining the best signal Quality I suggest using an F-type connector which virgin media do use this method of connector on there installation process
It should be the same screw in connection on both sides of the plate,
You can then easily extend the length using RG6 cable which looks like coaxial cable but it's much better;

I've fully reinstalled my virgin media using Belden 1694A cable which is silver shielded and gets me better internet speeds

But getting back to your question I recommend this type of plate; just be sure it is a male F-type connection on both sides of the plate before purchasing; as is the connection the same type on both sides of the plate.
