    25. You Oughta Know - Hated the Spice Girls with a passion.

    26. Animal Nitrate - Was never a big Suede fan but more to my tastes than the other one.

    27. Loaded - I fell in love with the Summertime singer in the qualifiers but Screamadelica is a classic album. Great song.

    28. The Day we Caught the Train - Was always more into OCS than Pearl Jam.

    Spice Girls for the craic.

HON THE POP MUSIC, there's far too much indie already through

    Exactly this.

Too many people afraid to look silly. Spice Girls were the personification of 90's.

    Wannabe for me

Nope. Just think the Spice Girls were shite. Wouldn't go to see them if they were playing in my back garden.

    This.

    And this.
You oughta know is a brilliant tune and deserved to get through.

All about personal taste. 90s had a good bit of variation. Dance, boy/girl bands, Britpop, grunge...

    Spot on, Mackeral.

Too many pretentious nonsense songs getting through.

'Wannabe' getting knocked out by Alanis Morissette.

    Comical.

    Song 2 and Iris anyways.

Like... Bitter Sweet Symphony is the better song but I'm awful tempted to vote for C'est La Vie :P Abstain for a minute from that.

Yeah, I agree. I loved the Spice Girls back in the day and Wannabe is definitely classic '90's. But You Oughta Know is a fantastic tune, one of the most cutting anti-love songs I can think of, made even more impressive by the fact she was so young when she wrote it.

Best song of the 90's for me means best song released in the 90's, not song that best encapsulates the 90's. Maybe others read it differently though.

    31 - Verve
32 - Chris Isaac (tricky one, but gets the vote for the David Lynch connection)
