Any guesses on who the support might be for the gig here? Wouldn’t be big into slipknot so would need someone else to push me to buy a ticket.

They had Volbeat, Behemoth and Gojira with them this year so I'd assume bands a long those lines

That schedule they have is insane, nearly 30 shows in a 5-6 week slot! Behemoth supporting them, first stop is dublin!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,677 ✭✭✭Zwillinge

Three presale codes are available anyways to purchase tickets on Tuesday

New Slipknot fan here. Made myself listen to their backlog over the past month. What put me off this long was firstly the masks ( i find them completely unnecessary and kinda silly) and the Nu metal label they have.
Cant say im a fan of the harmonies they seem intent on interuppting the metal with, particularly on the new album but i can over look it to get to the crunching metal they're so good at.
A friend of mine says they should let the metal guys drive and give the backstreet boys in the band the boot, which is probably a bit harsh but i can see his point.
Delighted they are touring and ill definitely be picking up a ticket for their Dublin show and 1 other, probably Hamburg.
Im sure they'll tear the fvcking roof off.

Not everyone likes the constant shouting style vocals. I'm one of them and I think the harmonies on WANYK are superb. My favourite is on Nero Forte along with Unsainted, Liar's Funeral and the beginning of Birth of the Cruel.

Such a superb album and miles ahead of anything they've released in a long time.

Of course everyone doesn't like that type of vocal, I don't think I suggested that they should. I happen to prefer it and I think they are excellent when they are doing just that.

I think the new album is pretty fvcking great too and have had it on repeat since it's release. Only to be dis;lodged this week by Tool.

Giving it a whirl at the moment on Spotify so gonna see what I think after a few listens.

Did anybody pre order to get the early access to their own pre sale for the dublin gig? I did, was not delivered yet I'd have thoight it would be here by now.

Finally delivered today, some preorder system they have, shipping the day it releases as opposed to shipping it for delivery for the day it releases

Anyways, have me pre sale code for tomorrow so hopefully I'll pick up a couple standing tickets

You won't get good seats in the presale. They get rid of the nosebleeds first.

I'd imagine so. A lot would have gone in the pre-sales. They will probably release more closer to the gig though.

You'd think not. I was going to hold out, surprised if it's sold out.

New album went to number 1 in regular charts so won't be a surprise if it does sell out.

Can't wait for it now myself. Some great songs on the new album I'm really looking forward to hearing live. They were top class a few years ago in the 3 arena.

Really looking forward to this and fully expect to be blown away.

Four years to the day. What a night

I'm going to see them in Luxembourg in two weeks and the Knotfest in Milton Keyes just caught my attention this morning.

Has anyone been to a Knotfest? Whats the deal with it, is it like a one day festival?

5 years amazingly . Only feels like the other day

In route to Dublin now for tonight's show. Cant wait

Oops, apparently it's not 2019 anymore.

Gig was good, set was very good too.
Surprised to see New Abortion chucked in, and delighted they played All Out Life.
But, that's probably the tamest I've ever seen corey. He's usually great for engaging the audience and getting the crowd going.

Also Sid was brilliant, he's like a one man show.

Great gig disappointed spit it out wasn't played , was great in 2015 but i was seated for that gig

Anyone buy tickets for knotfest yet, barcode is not displaying on the moblie tickets. Anyone else have this issue, tried ringing ticket master uk but is a nightmare to get them on the phone

A load of us bouncing on the bed in my cousin's house on my communion day listening to Spit it Out and Wait and Bleed and trashing the place is one of my finest childhood memories. I saw them in Dublin three years ago and it was absolute carnage, class stuff.

Like others hear I first heard them on a MetalHammer cd. Really loved the sound then and was lucky enough to see them live and meet them in 1999 at a gig just outside Boston in the US. An amazing show and they were so sound too.

Still give them an ould turn on the em pee tree playa!

Those CDs were unreal. Ripping the CD to your computer and deciding which one other album you'd leave on the mp3 because the storage was so tiny, haha. I remember when the old iPod came out first and my mind was blown "it comes in GIGABYTES?"

If anyone didn't see it on BBC

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,824 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

OK so not strictly speaking Slipknot.
But lads, we need to talk about Corey.

I'm not sure if he's gone full whack midlife crisis on this or fancies a bit of WWE walk in tunage but all I can say is... Jayyyyysus

(in saying that, few cans into me I'm sure I'll be shouting "CMFT must be stopped!" )

    Slipknot related.
They're streaming Disasterpieces tonight from 10pm according to the twitsasphere

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,870 ✭✭✭✭klose

Yeah, his solo stuff he's bringing out is looking to be a big no from me, I wonder will it do well? I certainly wouldn't begrudge him pursuing something different but he has a lot going with that aswell as slipknot and stone sour.

I'd certainly like to see one of his acoustic gigs while on topic of Corey.

Also watching the disasterpieces stream, how the hell did mick thompsons head not just separate from his shoulders? Man headbanged like a demon back then.

Giving this a long awaited bump, Clown hopes the band will be finished recording album #7 by the end of July, and have it out later this year. The new untitled one will also be their last one with & for Roadrunner Records. They've been with Roadrunner since 1999.
