    Hi all,

Getting married abroad in May. Currently checking off all the boxes but finding a little bit of conflicting information regarding the freedom of marriage cert.

Online it says we need to fill out a form but other people saying we just need an affidavit signed by a solicitor staying that we have never been married before.

Anyone who has been married in Spain able to clear this up?

Thanks in advance for the help

We done our pre marraige course at the weekend and the priest spoke to us about this. He had forms there that just had to be signed by a commissioner of oaths or a solicitor to say you werent married.

I'm not getting married abroad but he was talkin to a couple that are getting married in Italy and he said to allow more time for your paperwork to go thru as it has to be sent from here to the diocese and then from there to the diocese in Italy and then from there to the church.

    Hope that helps a bit
