Remember when Alan Kelly was given a snifter of power and it went to his head badly.

I cannot remember exactly what it was he said but was enough to put anyone off voting for him.

    Not his Constituents unfortunately ;)
He is, based purely on my own personal experience a plonker.

Ah this is great fun. The election is nigh.

Anyway that Jack Chambers fella has been on every news/chat/opinion thing on radio for months. Sick listening to him. FF just to mention.

I think I will have to load more podcasts now, since I don't watch TV and radio is/was my medium. Cannot stand the cRap that goes on at election time at all.

Sorry. But I'm not really. People are not fooled anymore.

Had to head into town, just back.

The only posters are the two on the entrance to a housing estate.

Has one of his die hard supporters jumped the gun?

Well technically one is enough for a fine to be issued.

On the other hand maybe we should take Pintman's advice and stand down the outrage pending further news.

A few fines won't stop this insufferable megalomaniac, he was basically elected on a technicality last time out so hopefully gets the door this time.

He will have an extensive campaign. Any fine would be a drop in the ocean.

And in that case two fines would issue. It's a fine per poster.

I got him the last time!

Ring Tipp Co Council in the morning.

Will do, was the poster you found last time in a different location?

He had them just down from the swimming pool on the village side.

Rang the council next day & they were taken down within hours.

Can someone please clarify.... If "someone" was to put up posters of say "tia maria and bailey's", would they still get fined, even if they weren't actually running (well not at her best time anyway)!

My guess is that this would be considered littering and whoever put the posters up or paid for them to be put up would be fined for littering.

I think we can all agree that TD's get to much pay and allowances.

Once they get elected they forget the people who they are representing.

Plus theres a lot of deadwood in the Dail that do fcuk all, Enda being one of them since he stood down as Taoiseach.

Alan Kelly must be doing something right as he has polled very well over many elections.

And no matter what happens he will land on his feet.
He's just that sort of guy.

Christmas is only just over, cannot the politicians leave us a little cheer without their mugs on poles.

Well Mr Lowry is also a TD in the same constituency so I presume the people that voted for the two are morons.

Yes it's the Healy-Rae election strategy.
Do many corrupt and stupid things so the rest of the country is laughing at the stupid people from that county. Then get voted in again as the people rebel against the mean people from the big smoke calling them stupid.

Some would think it's worth looking at the ugly posters if it means getting FG out of power ASAP.
I don't think it makes much difference either way.

Tipperary has four interesting TD's. All complex characters and very different in their politics and their personalities.Three independents and a party man.

Alan Kelly, Michael Lowry, Seamus Healy and Mattie McGrath.

Poor Jackie Cahill is almost dull by comparison.

I'll leave it to the voters of Tipp to defend their choices if they wish.

Good God. That’s some choice. What did Tipp do to deserve that?

    They kept voting them in.

Tipperary merged constituencies to condense it. It truly is potent, Alan Kelly approves!

Alan Farrell and Alan Kelly are different people, I think.

Correct. It’s the different names that give it away.

Is it legal to have election posters up already?

Nope it's illegal, and anyone that votes for that asshole should be shot with a ball of their own ****e.

Tipp people can only vote for the candidates on the list and 5 of the list are getting seats no matter how inept they are. Believe it or not that 5 were probably the best of a bad line up last time. The rest were local gombeen party hacks or the sons of past TDs who ran purely on the belief they had a right to Daddy's seat. In fact this time the main parties can't even find candidates to run from their ranks of local hacks or offspring. Fianna Fail are running a candidate they got from the Labour party because Kelly was blocking her career in her own party. Fine Gael HQ parachuted Kate O'Connell's sister into their lineup to howls of objection by the local party organisation.

It looks like being the same 5 again unless the Greens or Sinn Fein pull a real surprise candidate out of no where.

We really need a None of the Above option on ballot papers in Ireland.
