Casting Laptop download to TV with Chromecast

    Trying to cast downloaded film from HP laptop to Philips TV. Tried Google Chromecast but maybe I'm not using it properly. Does anyone have a basic ABC for dummies guide to watch a film downloaded from laptop to TV. TIA

    The Media player you have needs to be able to cast, many can't, VLC can.

    You need to be on the same network. Chromecast and laptop, watch guest networks etc

    If YouTube is casting for you then you are

    There are apps that you can run to help you too. Like VLC player

    Ensure your Windows PC and Chromecast are on the same network.

    Install the latest version of VLC Media Player.

    Open Playback > Renderer > Scan.

    Wait, then open Playback > Renderer > Chromecast.

    Accept the certificate, click Play, and enjoy!
