    "How was the Christmas?"

"Ah grand, quiet enough, sure you know yourself"
"Did you get over the Christmas ok?" (as if it's an endurance test) - every Irish mammy ever.

Just spontaneously booked a holiday I can be looking forward to for the next six months. Fear has subsided temporarily. Must get to bed now. Godspeed anyone back tomorrow, you'll fly it.

"You'd notice the stretch in the evenings" or " Easter is very early this year"

    Today X 10:
"Happy New Year. How was the Christmas?"
"Same to you. Ah sure it was nice and quiet. You?"

Yes, that is the usual conversation anywhere I have worked. :D
Everyone, including me, says 'it was grand, quiet.'

I don't know what any of us mean though, it was not like a Christmas in soapland maybe. :D

The reality, "I fell out with my brother, it'll prob be summer before I'm talking to him again. I feel like hammered s**t after eating and drinking too much, I might even have an ulcer. I spent a fortune buying people decent presents while they just got me socks and I'm afraid to check my bank balance"

That might be a bit raw for Dave and Christine in sales though.

Some of us were just lucky enough to be sick over the break and managed to lose weight over Christmas hahah

"The niece looked great in her Christmas outfit. They grow up so fast"
