I really like the look of the menu from Tenoo, but none of my family like it. I'm just wondering could this major change be a bit too out of the box for Dunshaughlin. If Tenoo was in the middle of Dublin, it would do extremely well.

So, I am hearing mixed reviews of the new restaurant. I have yet to try it out but not in any hurry looking at the menu.

When I first looked at the menu,I thought it was very bland and something just for the Lunch time, and it was exactly what friends told me. Or maybe they have a different dinner menu ?

    Anyone try it out?

Either way i'm not qualified to review it but will pay them a visit over the Christmas i recon.

Went in to Tenoo on Sunday approx 4pm after making a reservation, packed. Our table was being cleaned as we went in and it was a short wait.

The owner was very friendly. 3 of us were eating, 2 vegetarians. The wait for food from ordering to our table was less than 15 minutes. Decent portions!

For 3 main meals, 3 chips, 3 soft drinks and 1 pint of beer was only 39 euro.

Very happy with the service and would definitely go there again soon.

There's an article in in this week's Meath Chronicle about speeding traffic going past the Willows estate. Residents expressing concern about the safety of pedestrians, children in particular.
I drive past there twice every weekday. I would be something of a stickler for observing speed limits (so used to being overtaken on a regular basis!). But as if to prove the point, I was overtaken by someone just this morning who really loves their job, couldn't wait to get there.
He or she must have been doing at least 80 or 90 when overtaking me, coming from Dunshaughlin, right at the Willows exit...with a driver coming from the Willows waiting to turn right towards Dunshaughlin...scary...

Ya crazy drivers on this road....40% of accidents on the road are cause by speeding, people need to slow down.

I live in The Willows and regulary go for a jog about 5.30/6am in the morning and have seen some drivers overtake 4 to 5 cars in the morning.
This morning I saw a guy overtake 4 cars and just get back in time again just before the petrol station.

The gardai have been there a few times over the past few weeks pulling in people but I think there will be an accident soon or later.

Also I think the turn into the Willows coming from Dunshaughlin is so sharp that you have to slow down alot to take it especially if there is a car exiting the estate. I think this helps build frustration for drivers behind. Not making excuses for anyone but think its a combination of things.

This stretch of road has had this problem long before The Willows was built, I regularly get overtaken on this stretch of road, but the laughable part is these same cars are just in front of you at the Ratoath roundabout before Shire and I'm thinking what was the point of that, If these people are in such a hurry they should use the M3.....

And most likely in the left lane for Ratoath instead of the right lane for going straight or right !

Don't start... That needs a thread by itself! :D

I hope Meath County Council don't start thinking of speeds bumps for this stretch of road. I think what might work is a few curbed islands in the middle of the road similar to what is outside the County Club. they would seriously want to be mad to try to pass then, however that doesn't stop the speeding!

There's already a thread for that, a few months back...Actually, I don't take any heed of that left turn arrow. If I'm going straight on, I keep to the left anyway, and continue on the left after the roundabout. The alternative of going straight from the right lane means that for a time, at least, you'd have to stay in the right lane. And then you're sure to have speed merchants right up your arno, trying to bully you out of the way.
Safer to keep left, let the speed merchants work away...

It also goes against everything you're taught while learning to drive.....unless it has changed!

    To read road markings/ signposts?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,285 ✭✭✭Maysa07

The rules of the road have never changed as fare as i know. When you approach a roundabout you simply follow road markings. That's the way it has always been.

My only beef with this stretch of road is further down past Avoca\Kilsaran, at the marge. It seems my follow drivers do not know how to marge using the zipper system.

So i have taken the liberty to attach a picture :pac:

From the RSA site "Golden Rules" and what I was thought while learning to drive:

"If taking any exit from the 6 o’clock to the 12 o’clock position, motorists should generally approach in the left-hand lane.
If taking any exit between the 12 o’clock to the 6 o’clock positions, motorists should generally approach in the right-hand lane"

I do agree in following road markings, but this is standard Ireland, road markings not following the RSA golden rules.

    Golden Rule you forgot :
 If there are road markings showing you what lane
you should be in, follow those directions. Traffic
conditions might sometimes mean you have to
take a different approach but, in the main,
the ‘golden rule’ will help you to drive
    safely on almost any roundabout.

Isn’t there a roundabout planned for The Willows entrance as part of the ring road plans? That might help slow cars along that stretch at least if it could be fast tracked. Agree with previous that an island system similar to the county club would deter the stupid overtaking.

Traffic lights I believe when the ring road ever gets done I believe.

Pedestrian access to M3 Parkway from Bracetown side of M3?
I had to walk from Bracetown Business Park to the train station and I have to say it was the worst piece of pedestrian route I've seen in a long time.

Crossing the M3 was not easy, but there was a footpath. The path ended at the start of R157. I had to jump the crashbarrier and walk on the hard shoulder. Then at the roundabout outside the station, there wasn't even a hard shoulder. The verge was wet and unusable. So I had to time it and run along the side of the roundabout to make it to the footpath that started just after the roundabout.
If I was to guess, this lack of access could be more about ensuring people don't try to walk to the station and drive instead.

    I won't try that again.

Eir Urban FTTH rollout starts in January and some homes in the Supple Park area are now passing for it with speeds of up to 1000meg available to order from the new year. This should become more available in other parts of Dunshaughlin throughout next year.

    Hi

Looking to buy in the next phase of the willows. From What I've seen so far we're very impressed with dunshaughlin and the willows.

We've 2 kids aged 6 and 9. My wife and I work in dublin so was wondering what the commute was like?

Also we'll be looking to get the kids into as many clubs as we can. Has anyone got any information/tips advice they wouldn't mind sharing. The pro/ cons

    Thank you

Hi Kevin. I work in the city centre and get the Bus Eireann bus to work every morning. I get the bus at 6:25 and I'm in O'Connell Street by about 7:30. That's during the school term....in the summer it's less than 40 minutes. If you drive, the train is good as the M3 Parkway is the first stop so you can get a seat, but the times are poor enough for now. I'd highly recommend Dunshaughlin as a great place to live. My husband and I moved out here from D15 last April and it's a great place to live.

    Thank you for your feedback

I've a 6 and a 9 year old. Is there many clubs for children in dunshaughlin for that age.

I'll be driving to work as I work 9-5 on the North Circular road. What's the traffic like leaving dunshaughlin.

Is there many children playing in the greens that are in my kids age bracket.

    Thanks

    Hi Ger,

Can I ask how much is the bus, with Bus Eireann that is. I was looking it up and it seems to be €5.10 each way with a leap card is that correct?

    Thanks

I know this is petty but the height of some of the election posters in Dunshaughlin are a joke. Was out for a jog last night and the amount at waist and shoulder height on lamposts and electricty poles are a disgrace.

Do the MCC not remove these ?
