Poor form if true. He deserved at least some recognition for his time and service.

Well in his time he was an icon.No need to be so dismissive of some who's come to the end of their long and popular career. His fate awaits you too.Mind you, you'll never be as famous as him.

"Just a minute, the 60 seconds quiz" was on during lunch in the canteen at work.
You listened in amazement at the answers.

Some of the answers were incredible I agree and we all got a laugh from them, but the poor people were under pressure. But some of the answers..well you couldn't explain.

Most of the so called"hilarious" answers were never given.
Athough I do believe that the answer given when Gerry Ryan asked "where would you like to be buried?" is accurate.
Answer. "Up to the hilt in Bibi Baskin"

He wasn't doing it for free.

If RTE were serious about cost cutting they would close down 2FM or whatever it's called. It's not a public service, there is no need for it.

it probably is tbh. i haven't saw anything reliable to confirm it so far.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

Wasn't there a man on one day who got all his questions wrong, Larry said something like "the questions just didn't suit you today". The man replied "would you ever f**k off Larry".

Nobody is owed a high paying 60 year gig unless they consistently deliver - that said he’s still more listenable than most of 2fm.

Not surprisingly. He is quite ill at the minute and probably not capable of continuing with the job.

I hope his health improves and that he gets a few more years of happiness with his friends and family. I always found him to be a capable broadcaster and a likeable, inoffensive character.
