Some places are really expensive...we stayed in Bandos 20yrs ago, lovely small island and not too far from the main airport
Weather should be decent in Nov/Dec

It is possible to do the Maldives without breaking the bank, however... for most people it’s a bucket list holiday and when we went we felt it was worth spending more to get the most from the trip. So you could stay in an over water villa (incredible) or a basic room not on the water? You can go all inclusive or pay as you go? There are lots of travel operators that arrange trips to the Maldives so set your budget and get online or ring around and see what you can get for your budget.
Some of the islands are a bit further away from the capital Male, so you will need to get a small sea plane to your island rather than a boat so it’s more expensive.
We stayed on Kuramathi a few years ago and it’s a very special place but very very quiet as are most islands out there.
