Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Happy Christmas to all and I hope ye all have a great year in 2020.

    Has anyone got, or ever used and know where I could get, an adapter for a 1/2" UNF threaded rifle to enable it to take an M14 threaded moderator?

    Does anyone sell them? I can't seem to find anywhere online and don't fancy cutting the barrel back and having it re threaded if I can avoid it.

    Try www.Ebay.co.uk. I got one for my 1/2UNF to bring it up to accept a muzzle break on the .308. Nothing wrong with them either,made in Poland,and a well executed bit of machine work.

    I couldn't find the Polish manufacturers that Grizzly used but I did find a guy on the same site called Stefan from Serbia who trades under "sharp.shooter.ser" and he responded to my query in minutes and will make one up and ship it to Ireland for less than 30 dollars.

    He specialises in silencer adapters and has 100% positive feedback so I'm optimistic.

    That's the job Grizzly! Cheers for the heads up, I couldn't find anyone at all and thought it couldn't or wasn't being done for some reason.

    There's a company in england " best fittings" they specialise in all types of PCP air rifle fittings but they also have a full range of adapters for silencers.
    You may have to email them but also very helpful.

    Hello again folks, looking for more help or advice.

    Being the big dopey unit that I am I took the rifles out today for a few practice shots and when swapping around I tightened the suppressor that smidgen too much on the .270, so much so that when I took it off the adapter stayed screwed on inside it.

    Anyone any experience in this type of scenario? Can't find anything on Google.

    I was thinking maybe a drop of superglue on the threads of the .270 and then straightaway screw the silencer back on and leave it on for a while before removing might sort the issue but I'm not sure. I know I probably should have done this when I put it on first time but shur there you go.

    Would a long nosed pliers with the something over the jaws of it to protect the threads of the adapter and a spray of gun oil inside the suppressor be a better option?

    Any help or advice much appreciated.

    clean the barrel threads, put some blue loctite on them and put mod on.
    Let it dry, take it off, it should break the hold the carbon inside the mod has on it.
    If it does not try with red loctite,
    To remove the loctite after just heat the adaptor and it will come off easy.

    Good advice. If you have to use red, make sure to clean off all the blue first. Thread lock only works properly on clean metal.

    Dont use red loctite with anything related to firearms. If you do use it you will have to heat it up to 250c which will potentially cause discoloration to the barrel and you will change the structure of the metal. Barrels are annealed because they are made from a material with the proper tensile strength your adapter may not be.
