Help to open an Octavia 06 boot from inside

Wondering if anyone can help me as I can't do this even by looking at the manual. Basically the lock actuator is kaput and I cant open the door at all. The mechanic managed to open it from inside but I couldn't see what he did to open it. Anyone able to give me some guidance, I could do with being able to open it in the…

I've already looked at that and I just can't manage to open it.

I guess I'll have to leave it for the mechanic
