    Looks like a prequel.

spoiler from that memory beta paged I linked
It looks like the comic depicts Picard's actions during the Romulan evacuation at the time of the supernova

Sorry but I think I missed this but it is this comic a prequel to the series? If so is it a one shot or a series?
    Thanks in advance

    It's a series.

Yep, exactly. And it's the Picard we remember as far as I can see.

Had a look in Other Realms in Cork and it's not there. They might have ordered it in if I asked but didn't bother.

From reading this comic it appears that
this version of the Prime Timeline has a Romulan Government that had to admit that there was a serious problem and that the Nova was a genuine threat.

    I like it.
They're not letting the JJverse have such an influence on how things go in their universe.

I hope I'm correct on that. If not please let me know. Otherwise I'm looking forward to the next issue - when will it be out?

The Discovery shorts? Netflix will probably have them eventually. The season one shorts were released there shortly before season two started.

Certainly not Amazon anyway if its the ones for ''Discovery'' that you want to see. Just have to wait until they are on Netfliks. I still have not seen them myself either. Now if they make some for ''Picard'' I am sure they will be on Amazon but that would be only if the show is a success I would say.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

The next short is a Picard prequel :D due out a few days before the series premiers.

I like that the STO Odyssey class is now Canon!

    It's a nice ship.

Yeah like the design - I have one stored somewhere in my account, it's been a LONG while since I played STO.

Interesting thing - STO was supposed to be canon, at least the events leading to 2409 when the game happens. When CBS and Cryptic announced the game, it was paraded as the continuation of the TNG canon era; At the time, it was a way to keep the interest in Star Trek alive since no series were planned and the JJ movies...well, let's not go there.

Since STO changed hands to Perfect World/Arc Games, the storyline has developed a bazillion crazy tendrils in order to extract cash from players...and I suspect (actually hope) it's not deemed canon now. Remains to see if the initial "road to 2409" story established had any influence on the world Picard happens in - namely, the Kithomer accords dissolution.

Would be nice to see a few other ship designs make it into Picard, maybe some of the Romulan Republic ships...

I found some of the newer Short Treks on Dailymotion however the audio seems a bit messed up. Rebecca Romijn sounds like she just inhaled helium.

The 2nd part of the Picard Countdown comic/graphic novel is out. Continues the story pretty well. Still true to his character

That looked a lot like Ten Forward he was sitting in there at the beginning....I guessing a lot of TNG flashbacks / dreams in some portion of this show....which might be a lot of fun.

Looks like they've reimagined his time as Locutus as well in that first sequence?

Not a big fan of the look if so. Think the makeup looked great in First Contact and the Voyager era.

That does feel like it fits better with the feel of the main trailer where the Romulans are up to something.

Picard (or anyone else in the Prime timeline) shouldn't know about Vulcan being destroyed in the JJ-timeline. So I'd go with one of the Romulan worlds, perhaps he feels guilty/it haunts him in some way?

Vulcan being destroyed by mini black hole in the JJ-timeline looked a whole lot different to the large bombs going off in that clip.

Even if it was Mars Why would it be? Not like the Romulans would have the resorces to do it now after there World or Worlds got destroyed from the Supernova in there system. Also if you were going to attack a world in the sol system Why Mars? Why not Earth? We all seen how easy both the Borg and the Breen got to Earth when they wanted to and the crap defences it had. Maybe they have been beefed up since then do. Myself I still think and hope its an alien world be it a Romulan one or some other one.

Utopia Planetia is on Mars. It's a huge military target that could cripple Starfleet's ability to replace lost or obsolete ships.

Sol doesn't seem to be the soft target it was before either. While not a massive fleet the one that greeted Voyager's return was 18 ships including Galaxy, Nebula, Miranda, Prometheus, Defiant, Excelsior, Saber, and Akira class ships with 9 more inbound.

    Same with Romulan supernova

    Same with Romulan supernova
Unless Picard retcons it that would still have happened in the prime timeline.

Could be a Romulan attack on Mars for the destruction of Romulus.
Kinda of like if I'm going down, you're coming with me.
